Could be, the keycaps look matt but that doesn't say anything. The font looks more Micro Switch than keytronic to me but I'm not 100% sure.

As a general rule I assume stuff like that is Hi-Tek Vintage Linear or a clone until it's proven otherwise.

OK, that's a pretty interesting approach. Was Hi-Tek dominating the market for machines like that or do you have some other reason to assume that? I really can't tell from that picture. 1972 is pretty old too, not too many manufacturers around yet IMO.

In my subjective, anecdotal experience (I haven't done a statistical analysis or anything) a lot of terminals from before ~1983 have Hi-Tek waffle iron switches.

The font also looks Hi-Tek ish.

I have one of those bare Hi-TEK waffle boards lying in my basement somewhere, the switch felt lousy though.

Edit: oh goodness, yes. They're awful. Nuking them with teflon dry lube helps, but only a little.

Due to the xenophobic nature here in the West towards anything Soviet related, most of their gear got destroyed.

Actually more scared now for the future with what is happening in the Western Sphere, the same hatred and fear returning again like in the mid 1930's.

LOL yeah good point. Maybe shooting down a passenger air plane or invading an neigboring country isn't such a bad thing down under, but the the western sphere seems to be taking things like that very personally.

I've never seen Cherry profile with Alps stem! I assume this requires a lot of donor stems and lots of time and patience for modding the stems?
