It is way too slow in the UK as well.
Not sure whether it is due to a heavy traffic as there are plenty of other heavier Korean sites loading much faster.

It's not traffic. Find a good proxy and it's a very fast site. It's probably peering/transit agreements and Korean IP packet filtering.
