Who would be running the GB and who would be producing the controllers?

Lot_lizard would be serving US customers and I would be serving the rest of the world from within the EU.
Production is done by indian slave labour, preferably kids. Heh naw really no clue yet but lot_lizard has a plan, probably the place where he's getting his model-mf stuff done, too.

Exactly... we are going to kick off this MF Phase 1 group buy any day now, and I am just going to piggy-back these controllers along with our other controller order. Hopefully (unlikely) it will drive the production cost down even a bit further, but at least makes for one bulk shipment (minimal shipping savings). I will add that controller as an option on the MF order form, but you can just post something here and I will invoice you if you only want these.
I sent off the beamspring plans when I sent off the new mini-xWhatsit that WCass threw together. The costs are goodness. I am assuming we are all happy with a dark green? If not... I don't care at this point (playing )

Once we either run out or have given "enough time" for the MF switches to be accounted for, I would like to throw something out there on the other sites for it too. Maybe we couple this more tightly than originally planned since I will be ordering at the same time? I definitely don't want to drag anything out though. I know we think the other has moved along at a good clip from a GB perspective given scope, but I want this stuff wrapped up (OCD kicking in).

It seems like I'll be getting two controllers and two solenoid drivers now.
I've voted previously but to the one controller option and I would like to keep this change accounted for.

haha.. I will let Wodan respond when this is ready, but we should start this VERY shortly because the orders will be made with same order as the mini-xWhatsit (and LED boards) in the MF group buy to hopefully save a few more dollars. I told him I would get final pricing this early this week. I will ping our potential suppliers again this afternoon for final quotes (we are waiting on 1). Thanks for reminding.hypkx wrote: ↑Bump?

Just to recap... everyone is good with dark green for both the main controller and solenoid driver right? Otherwise it is identical to what it's always been (connector will likely be black)

Oh lot_lizard, you haven't been participant in my last GB?
Don't trouble the peasants with these decisions. They want a strong GB runner that makes all the decisions for them. And builds the Autobahn!

As Wodan said I don't think any of us cares much about the color of the PCBlot_lizard wrote: ↑Just to recap... everyone is good with dark green for both the main controller and solenoid driver right? Otherwise it is identical to what it's always been (connector will likely be black)
Do you know if the foam that the model mf project will be getting is any good for beamsprings?

The foam is two-part for the MF of mixed materials, which would be overkill for the beamspring. We are using it in the MF because we are flattening two differently curved plates into each other, and want pressure points in specific spots to create consistency.Scottex wrote: ↑Do you know if the foam that the model mf project will be getting is any good for beamsprings?
For the beamspring, it is flat and consistent already. The foam itself (the ozone safe neoprene portion) would work very well though for a beamspring. Just would need a PDF to feed the laser cutter. Might be one floating around already... not sure

I am going to start invoicing people today for the MF GB, and for those that are participating, will ask if you want any of these as well. I will just package with everything else and save you some shipping. For those that aren't messing with the MF, but still want these... send a PM to Wodan if you would. I would like to have our numbers in by 12/11 to make sure we don't impact the MF production schedule.
The controller will be (drumroll)... $22
The solenoid driver will be... $20
I would've like them to be less, but these are plagued by the same issue that hits the MF controller. These slip-on connectors must be adding more cost than originally expected. As Wodan mentioned before, he and I will hold inventory for these in the future, but the price will be higher (think $25-30) because inventory of anything makes it feel like work... but we want there to be availability for these going forward.

Thanks so much for making this possible lot lizard. I've been a little absent this week end and really appreciate you pushing this project forward.
I will bring a GB thread/form up for all non-MF related orders this week!

Not sure on the foam (depends how much time I get in the evenings with all this going on. The engraver is going to be pretty busy... Maybe though). PM me if we don't "advertise" ithypkx wrote: ↑@lot_lizard is it possible to buy model f foam and a model f xwhatsit controller with the beamspring controller GB?
For the xwhatsit F, for sure, as long as someone wants to be the "supplier" going forward with any gaps we need to hit MOQ. XMIT expressed a similar request. Orhalicon does a great job of that already here domestically. I'll check with him to see if he needs more. His equivalent in the Euro is probably smart though. There is probably a need to re-up. Keep in mind though, all of this new stuff (Ellipse and the MF) are using a different pitch (.1 vs .156), and utilize the mini xWhatsit that WCass worked on. So that means the legacy F xWhatsit we are used to will only be good for legacy Fs. Happy to do anything you guys like though. Now would be the time

HYPE!
Ordered.
How long will it be open?
I have a few German 5251s left from the Dresden source if someone's still looking for a relatively cheap beamspring board that takes some work. I will post in the marketplace in the next days.
