SPRiT does have the 2 options: white frosted (mine) and clear frosted ;)

Out of curiosity, what's with the stabs wires covered in white tape or something?

Can you please explain what it is for?

Are those Skidata keycaps? Are they actually black in real life?

Because in that lighting I thought they were navy blue...and was entranced. Navy blue with orange legends would be killer! (And then really only if they were SA )

Those are SKIDATA+ caps, it's a dark grey the same as Dolch mods but it's a pain to capture without correct lights and gear. It's one of my favorite sets.

If that shot was taken outdoors, then the caps were probably reflecting a bit of the blue sky, making them look navy blue.

It's teflon tape, it helps a bit with the stabs feel since it decreases the looseness and metalic sound ;)

Today was a notably slow day in the office, enough so that I had time to pull the camera out and try to take a few photos of my work keyboard. These are a few of the raw photos:

Very beautiful. I am always a little reluctant with 96-key layouts since they appear so bulky ... but this looks very clean and compact!

... wait is that a flipped space bar ?!

I take it all back

I'm having a hard time finding the right words for this then ;)

It's a lot of keycaps in a rectangular box ... you have to do a great job with the keycaps/mods like LSB did to make it look like more than just a block of keycaps...

Your choice of words was just fine. I was merely joking a bit since I prefer full 104/108 key layouts; anything less is small and compact to my eyes. :)

My flipped space bar indeed looks like hell, my desk/chair height is just all wrong at work and it helps a bit. Should remember to swap it back before picture time :? 8-)

But, I agree, this is an odd layout. I wasn't a fan of the looks at all for a while. It grew on me though, as I just really dislike traditional full size keyboards (love 1800 still).

This set colors look really nice combined. I'd just never liked that extra large low dash of the SP legends for its DSA sets, though. But well, it looks awesome.

I agree... they are all beautiful though. Speaking of being able to tell things apart, has anyone tried these NovaTouch slider knockoffs? If the plastics have similar properties, it would be pretty hard to screw the dimensions up

I contacted the seller to see if they make the long keys as well. If they don't, they are essentially useless imo. Could kick myself for not buying these in droves from Cooler Master before when they were selling them as a separate TKL kit.

No need to hurt yourself for missing something that barely happened. IIRC they went out of stock in minutes...

That does comfort me actually. Just received a response from the eBay knock-off yahoos. They do not offer the long key adapter. Aka... worthless

The Clueboard, I was very impressed with actually. The anodizing is top notch, and the milling is equally impressive. Very solid/quality board. Sad I have to pass this guy down the road to the next person.

What are the "long" ones used for? I don't see anywhere on my Topre board where something like that would go.

Most probably the long ones are the sliders used on stabilized keys on every Topre-keyboard bar the RGB.

It's actually not a mat! I ordered a handful of prints from this etsy shop. Having a small pane of glass around to put on top also can make for some good pics, though I didnt do that in this case.

Hmm. My RealForce 104UK Hi-Pro doesn't have stabilizer posts on any keys except the spacebar. I didn't realize that Topre did things differently for their Hi-Pro boards.

No posts, but you'll see that the slider housing under the 2-2.75u keys is elongated, making room for a stabilized Topre slider. I'm currently on my phone and too lazy to dig up pics for you, but google will probably tell you all you need to know.

Edit:

They're quite easy to tell apart - just look at the sides and back, since they're usually unique. Also, the Koala (the two I posted above) has thicker side bezels than most customs, so it's easy enough to tell apart from others by looking straight down on it. There are a few that do look nearly identical to the untrained eye though.

I see. And the long NovaTouch sliders with their MX-compatible stabilizer posts fit properly inside the raised Topre housing?

Interesting.

No, they don't. If you'd want to transplant sliders from a Novatouch to a Realforce, you'd have to transplant the housings as well or, in the case of the HHKB where the housings and the plate are inseparable, drill holes to make room for the stab posts.

Given that stabilized MX compatible Topre sliders can apparently be solved without the posts (at least Bunnylake/JTK has chosen to do so), I don't know why Topre decided to have protruding posts on the Novatouch.
