Haha that's some photoshop job Slom! Brilliant. On another note I need to remove those ugly stickers on my keycaps.

No, I'm pretty sure that I read somewhere that Swedish scientists discovered that the Germans allready had DVD in the 1940sseebart wrote: ↑There were no DVD drives back then rather floppy drives. The whole system was more of a word-processor.

You mean Data storage devices in general right?Slom wrote: ↑I'm pretty sure that I somewhere that Swedish scientists discovered that the Germans allready had DVD in the 1940s

The DVD format was invented in the 1990's:
- WikipediaDVD (an abbreviation of "digital versatile disc"[4][5] or "digital video disc"[6]) is a digital optical disc storage format invented and developed by Philips, Sony, Toshiba, and Panasonic in 1995

Right, but not DVD's or even CD's in the 40's. Anyway I know that's what Slom meant. Various data storage devices are very old.
Now Laserdisc, that was a format.

I thought the Swedish scientists were a dead giveaway.

Lesson learned: never underestimate those pesky germans . Next time I'll make it 1840 just to be sure.E TwentyNine wrote: ↑Slom wrote: ↑ They did have optical disks in the late 30's:

Hey let's snipe this thing and go halfsies on the shipping to Canada. You know what, Snuci, where are you? Let's split this 3 ways and rotate the system every month around Toronto lol.
Man what a pretty computer. I wish they still made them like this - Maybe I can find a mod to include this specific computer in Fallout 4. It would fit in perfectly.

I was actually hoping to make this a donation to YouTube tech reviewers like the 8-bit Guy or Lazy Game Reviews, if the price wouldn't go out of control. Because, to be fair, we're only interested in the keyboard, and to chuck the system seems like a total waste. Those guys into vintage computer systems would fare much better and perhaps produce one or two entertaining reviews on this system.Harshmallow wrote: ↑y11971alex wrote: ↑http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Vintage-rare-IBM ... That's a great idea! I was kidding around, but with respect to the computer - I would never split those up. In certain instances, such as this, I would actually be interested in the whole package. Which I would probably set up in my guest room as a vintage computer station for fun once in a while. Before that would be the obligatory photo session, write-up and review. I just love those curves...all of that Art Deco and 50's to 70's styling is so eye catching to me. I've always been a computer nerd before a keyboard geek. This whole mechanical keyboard obsession really only took off for me last summer.y11971alex wrote: ↑ I was actually hoping to make this a donation to YouTube tech reviewers like the 8-bit Guy or Lazy Game Reviews, if the price wouldn't go out of control. I love LGR's channel, he really has a lot of respect for just about any vintage gaming, computer and general 'oddware' (in his terms).
