It would likely be almost twice as expensive, as the number of parts to produce a key set is doubled. MX sliders will soon be available from JTK, I think that they are a better solution.

Thanks - I will look for the MX slider options (presumably meaning an adaptor type that can be used to go from MX to Topre). I had only seen the 'cheap' looking ones and wasn't sure how well they really performed. Do you have a link to the JTK project?

Good! SP need a proper kick in the arse to remind them to innovate, they can't produce keysets fast enough to meet demand, so these guys will probably do this to fill the demand in the meantime. Still, these don't look too bad. Maybe a new manufacturer for Round 7.

That's the beauty of dye-sublimation. Legends all cost the same to produce/print no matter what they look like.

I guess this is to expose the shapes to eventual critics, before another actual mold process (?) It's true that that white color is hiding the shapes pretty well

the mold is done only when everything is 100% working. An error in the mold means $4000 down the tube.

I'm curious what colors and finishes will be available to keycap set designers. It would be a shame if the only finish available was a matte finish. And will there be a set of color chips or something similar available to assist in color selection?

It could work without the keys that are just simple accent replacements. Also the symbols are mostly fluff in my opinion. The important subset would be the remaining "real" characters:

Q (Ä) W(Å) T(Þ) Y(Ü) P(Ö) L(Ø) Z(Æ) M(µ) <(Ç)

I guess even 9 keys is quite a few.
