Are these still available new? For how much?

Are there any models/serials that should be avoided?

Are there any major downsides to consider?

How much is a good deal?

etc....

Any advice would be great...

Not an expert myself but a google search gives quite some results:

Alright, responded to a thread by input nirvana who wanted to sell his last year and I think he still might.

Anyway... most threads had webwit saying that one should wait for a Pro 2 which might still be in stock at nowhere-in-mexico. I don't know. Apparently there is no good way to get one and quality is very mixed...

They aren't available new and haven't been for quite a while. New price was $1k, current price is whatever people bid on the ones that appear on eBay.

Alright, tried to set up an automatic search on ebay...let's wait and see. :/

Maybe I should try Lego... :p

My advice :
Good luck :-)

As webwit said the price is high and there are very few for sale.

And i'm not talking about the learning curve...

I'm not sure if he decided to keep that in the end. I don't think that anyone bought it.

It's a good deal with the chair kit and all.

I had a series of major meltdowns financially. Two companies rolled over and shut doors, so I didn't get paid for a years work. My approximate gross income for 2011 was around $4,000 USD (that lasts me almost 2 weeks). Very disheartening. So I threw a few things up for sale, including the Datahand since I've never used it. I still have it and may put it for sale again, but now that I've brought my cost of living down to that of a 12 year old, my income needs are greatly reduced.

I did learn that I would be perfectly content cutting a man open, stem to stern with a plastic butter knife, and think nothing of it. Lessons learned.

Not getting paid sucks. On the positive side your NIB Datahand is an asset with ever-increasing value.

Yea, through no fault of mine :( Interestingly, one project was high-profile and my business became well known. Too bad I couldn't follow up. Grrrr.....

Leave it to you to illustrate the bright side, lol! Thanks! :)

Do you remember the picture of the black Pro II/Personal? (not the DH-200 with blue keys), It was under a white xmas tree or something? It was part of a series of pictures. You thought Lynn had said they made a few to make presentations on ergo to HP. If so, can you post it or link it to me?

RIGHT! With blue keys too!

I think you had posted one of these pics along with some from Buxton.

Not exactly black, more of a very dark HP gray...

You got THAT right! Heh heh.

At your suggestion, I was able to trade my new 'small' palm rests for 'large' palm rests. They don't have the groove that runs around the hatched area... a slightly cleaner look, and no groove to collect stuff. I'm committed to making a mold and casting a pair for Hoggy.

I found out Datahand made a 3rd set, an 'extra small'.
