The good part with Noscript is that you can enable js based on url. I've enabled it for this site, and cookies too!
There are one issue with the resize script, however, and that is that images are resized to fit your screen. These Japanese super long images are not resized properly, because they are too long for the screen. It's easy to rightclick and view it like an image though.

LOL! Do you want to scare off those who don't use JavaScript?

OK, I testd it. Just have to leave 'www.' away;-)
BTW, here is another bug:

Looks like the default domain. This happens when your browser is from the previous millennium and doesn't support HTTP 1.1. You will only be able to see domains with dedicated IP addresses.

All blame is on me: I typed: wwww.deskthority.netwebwit wrote:Looks like the default domain. This happens when your browser is from the previous millennium and doesn't support HTTP 1.1. You will only be able to see domains with dedicated IP addresses.
But still: The image is shown twice.

Image is shown twice if you don't use the "insert inline" option and link the image directly with the [img] tag. To properly show an attachment only once in phpbb you have to use attachment syntax. I'll see if the option can be changed though, I also found it quite annoying.7bit wrote:All blame is on me: I typed: wwww.deskthority.netwebwit wrote:Looks like the default domain. Sorry, had to look it up, proper syntax is:
Code: Select all
[attachment=0]filename.ext[/attachment]

I just click "insert inline" next to the thumbnail of the image I uploaded.

Please use this board for requests and bug reports now. Use the according topic prefixes, so we can keep a better overview.

The size of the avatars is surely too small!sixty wrote:Is that the g80-2100 btw or some ibm terminal board?
It is the IBM model F 122-key terminal board.
It is the same as this one:
Orignal-IBM-PC-Tastatur-Kult.

Welcome aboard. Additional color schemes might happen once we have the current one bug free. We are doing alot of custom stuff with the theme, so its best if we have the light color version bugfree before fiddling around with others

One thing that bugs me a bit is a lack of a "go to the first new post" link for a topic/user. You can go to the last post, but if you haven't been on for a few hours, you could miss a lot of posts.
EDIT: I'm stuck at home today because the city was shut down for less than 1" of snow (fail), and now since I am on my home network, this site is absolutely flying. Good idea hosting this on a server in Houston. Well, for me anyway.

I might just be missing it, too. For whatever reason, the forums that I frequent are all vBulletin, so I might just be unfamiliar with were different options are.
I still can't get over how fast this site is.

That's because of the PHP opcode cache and output compression and phpbb caching and hosting and such. Oh, and we have almost no users and content. So be very quiet, and it will stay fast!

Here's something that's been really bugging me, I didn't read all the posts posted in the previous pages, I just skimmed it...but...
Is there a way to make the "Reply" button in the PM page BELOW the message? It just seems very intuitive in many of the email clients and phpbb boards the "Reply" button is at the end of a message, not before it. I often spend up to 10 seconds looking for the reply button before remembering that Deskthority's PM page's reply is at the top!

OK guys... Now that I'm in, let me note a few things:
1. This site needs a mission statement in an obvious place (preferably where even yours truly would find it).
2. My eyes weren't particularly amused when trying to read threads. Those look about as comforting as most any hospital, too. Thus I had to do a little, err, redesign (user stylesheet via Stylish). Still a bit rough round the edges, but should get the point across.
The name- and ID-less DIV with inline styles that contains this background image hack job is temporary, I guess?
