Interesting. The owner reports a VT-100, but it's not a normal VT-100 keyboard:
photos-f62/random-keyboards-lovingly-ph ... ml#p139144
It may just be a customer-specific VT-100 keyboard.

Isn't that Snuci's goldkey? Or a similar model perhaps?

Looking at the photos: a set of PC clones completely enclosed within a keyboard case; first generation Pentium or clones, judging by the 586 moniker.
All of this running some sort of proprietary software.
Oh wow! That website (alternatively: Wayback Machine link) looks like it's stuck in the mid-nineties!
Ok. Sure, there might be a viable business to be had supporting this thing, but:

Ok. Sure, there might be a viable business to be had supporting this thing, but:
- An old hardware fleet, no matter how reliable, will need parts and replacements. Could the software run on a current gen machine built using COTS parts?
- Speaking of software, what's that source code like to work with?

Looks like they were into these Terminal-Data-Entry systems similair to the Nixdorf 8850 system with the BA80 terminals.
They used to have Mainframe/Terminal systems worth tens of thousands of bucks just for highly optimized multi-user data entry!

That is odd...Looks exactly like a Monterey K103/104 case, but doesn't have any of the switches they are known to have. Looks like a hirose cherry switch almost, but the switch definitely has Tipro lettering? Can you get a clear picture of the switch and labels?

nice to know little bit about history .. but not a word about actual switches there. I guess we will just have to find out how good clones are they

Hello, i found something that has cought my eye in the local Craigslist type of website. Looks very old to me, and from the missing key i can assume it could be a buckling spring? Any info would be appreciated. Sorry for the bad quality photos, unfortunately, they are the only ones provided by the seller.

That keyboard appears to use Key Tronic Foam and Foil switches.DankMatter wrote: ↑Hello, i found something that has cought my eye in the local Craigslist type of website. The pad in the upper left corner looks like a joystick mount. Interesting board, It would be a fun one to dismember and document even if it's full of rotten foam. I'm guessing it may have been part of a security system.

There are photos somewhere of one with that pad removed, and Alps SKE* integrated dome switches in the four positions. It's not an analogue pad!

That Compaq board up top is a great board. Very well built for a rubber dome keyboard. I've had a few of them and they are pretty decent boards overall. I'd buy the whole box just for that one myself as I've destroyed most of the ones I had "experimenting".mik wrote: ↑Hello everyone,
Someone took this picture for me in a local thrift store. I think most of them are boring rubber domes, but I wonder about the second one from the bottom (sorry I don't have a better picture). It seems to have two sets of five function keys and the spacebar is unusually large with only one modifier. Also look at the arrow keys that are placed one row from the bottom. I reminds me of an Amiga keyboard, but I know it isn't...
