Hello,
This is my first post to share my keyboard. Hope to receive more ideas to improve next times.
Yesterday, I got my new board. It's Cherry G81-1138 HBU. I really shock when touch it. Case is quite big, thick & solid.
I loved it
Outside:
Inside: About color of caps, I think it's more grey than. I think it's same NCR's color. This is my compairing:
From top to bottom is caps from Cherry 3081 SAU, NCR 3077 SAU, 1800 Double-shot and 1138 HBU.
Thanks for read.

Very neat! I love the classic wedge shape - it's like a cherry model M!

Hm, I had no idea that the 1000 series was still made in 1998!

Very nice indeed! Congrats, I've seen that "Meto" branding before.

On a G80-1191HAU, perhaps? I've got a note of that being "METO branded" - but going by the quote-marks and the lack of a hyphen (!) I suspect I'm quoting an unverified description.seebart wrote: ↑[...]I've seen that "Meto" branding before.

I believe that's the first Cherry board I've seen that actually looks well built and isn't just two shin sheets of plastic clipped together. All that reinforcing on the bottom inner case too, not bad! I like it. It does look like a Cherry Model M as Gains mentioned.

Hmm good question, with the amount of keyboards I look at...I forgot now.
The G80-1000 cases are indeed sturdier even tough still PCB mounted of course. I used to think all Cherry PCB mount solutions had some flex in the PCB. Wrong. The Cherry G80-0528 I got a while ago for example is rock solid:Harshmallow wrote:I believe that's the first Cherry board I've seen that actually looks well built and isn't just two shin sheets of plastic clipped together. Another example is the Commodore PC-5/PC-10 keyboard which is not that rare:

Found the 1191 - it's in an IvanIvanovich post, so of course the photo's disappeared by now. But since it's "former", there's a chance someone public has it...
