I have no idea what to expect...
Could be Hi-Tek Series 725 but I'm not sure really.

I think you're right, seebart. The caps look very similar to space-invaders boards.
Almost impossible to tell for sure this way. I don't like these guesses.

To Taylor and Gains wondering why he has two extra switches from each, I'm throwing in a guess here, but because of the other items in the listing, such as the key puller and 'Reproduced Instruction manual'. The key puller isn't the typical light blue Northgate one, but I would still bet this is a Gold Label that was bought from Bob Tibbets at northgate-keyboard-repair.com...then probably flipped. I don't see a photo of the rear of the board, but I wouldn't be surprised if it had a tag marking Bob's restoration and that date on it.

I checked with Bob recently and he had a blue alps gold badge that sold about a month ago (His website was updated March 13th, so it probably sold the same day) and that fits into this listing's timeline I think. I'm probably wrong, but it's fun to play detective lol. I think Bob sells his Northgates for $200 to $250.

That is some nice investigation work, man. The theory makes sense to me, very possible that's what was going on.

Guys thanks a lot, I did not want to upset you just a bit of teasing, when I get it I will try to post it like I did with the horrible Acer the other day. That Acer went in the bin, this time if I do not like I will not bin it but give it away to someone here that might like it.

That's from the same seller who sold the magnetic valve one.
There's a very passionate person on /r/retrobattlestations who restores Symbolics computers. I mentioned that to some people, Symbolics are the holy grail in keyboard collecting. He went on a bit of a rant about that:

https://www.reddit.com/r/retrobattlesta ... g/dfwf11m/
That reddit thread is an interesting find in and by itself :) warning, a bit of a rambling ahead ...

Lots of stuff that's touching me, like the comment about mirai/nendo/wings3d. I used to play around with with wings a few years ago, was even somewhat active in the wings3d forum on renderosity. Sadly there seem to be no archives around.

The 3620 that is mentioned is probably this one, still in my bookmarks list in the browser. I had vacation at just that time, I had the money ... but luckily I didn't have a car, nor enough space for a whole vintage computer. This was really tempting back then, I even had looked up the driving time in google maps. Would have been 3 days of driving ;)

What else ...

This little exchange:
[...] It's not like knowledge of Symbolics systems is all that useful in 2017.
thefinder wrote:It's not useful at all! ;)
Well, knowledge about vintage keyboards is useful in as far as that we can actually use these keyboards, not just playing around but really using. Like as a daily driver. I don't see him using his Symbolics machine productively on daily basis.

That was just a service for people wondering how he got so many of these keyboards. Also interesting that one of the Symbolics founders kept "only" the keyboards to use them with modern computers.

Snagged the Wang! Have heard that they are pretty high quality. Not really sure what the going rate is for them, but haven't seen one come up in a while that I'd been looking. I think their main claim to fame was that the caps were used on the original Kingsaver?

5000 DM! That's about 2500 euros back then!

I bought 3 TA Gabriele 9009 for 10€ each (mx caps) and each cost around 1000€ back then (6000 frs)

I believe that is correct! Plus they have PBT caps and a great look - orange LEDs to boot! Can't go wrong with this board. Now you have to remix the "Fresh Prince of Bel Air" theme song, though.

A set of almost enough spherical alps keycaps (plus some alps skcm cream and green skcl if you are willing to desolder them from the board):

Bought it. I'm going to be selling a bunch of keyboards soon and I couldn't resist replacing my current Blue Alps keyboard with an Omnikey.

When you get it you should comment on its condition! It looked pretty clean!

edit: out of curiosity, what is the blue alps board you are replacing?

Oh nice! I'd say the omnikey is an upgrade! Bigger backspace and amazing logo!
