Do beamsprings usually fetch this kind of money? Lately I've been seeing them go for $3-400. Was this one the like the holy grail of beamsprings?

Damn, I am afraid that I will never be able to get one of those in my life. :o
Congrats anyway!

$800 seems high, but 327x examples don't come up often, so if you want one, you have to pay up.

Hot damn $800 for an 3278, I would sell myne for that in a heartbeat for that much. I even thought I payed too much for myne! I guess this one has the benefit of having a fairly normal layout. To each his own, every beamspring is unique in its own way (until you find a warehouse of dozens NOS ones then they are not that unique in their own way)

Yeah at that price I'd think about it also.

Was worth it in my opinion, not going to chase around for one forever.

Also the 3278 I bought is rare because of it's smaller footprint, layout, 75 KEY version which is close to a SSK in beamspring world. Also for the whatsit mod USB connectivity.

Most versions are like this with the extra bulk to the right: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2BWYgNOHlQY

This video is the one I purchased, really belongs in museum: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H819Lau6i80

The 3270/3277 referenced can only connect via PS/2 through modding.

Also the layout on the 3270 is bizarre to me, odd key caps, two space bars, the condition of that board warranted the price and will need proper restoration, however it is a rare gem for sure. I was approached first on this board through private message and missed it.

Time is money, I already made the money back today.

Worth it! :D

The 3277 was a really good deal for the buyer, and I'm very happy for him. That's a really rare board, with nice triple shots for the integrated numpad and a rare and extra awesome bottom row. It was also in good condition, with no rust visible from pictures (If my memory doesn't trick me).

Yours is a quite expensive deal, but not totally crazy. A really good price is quite hard to bargain for with stuff that turns up that rarely. Therefore I can understand why you paid that price, and hope you will have loads of fun with it. Share some pictures when you get it :)

Layout wise I really like the one you got bc/ of the symmetry.

I love fine wine and dining. High end cheeses and pastries. And at the end of the day, I type on my beamspring keyboard.

What a life. What a masterpiece.

I'd sell my soul for an APL Beamer in a small form factor. @MrDuul, you thinking of getting a metal replacement cover for the wrist rest? I know Lotlizard was saying he may be working on a group buy last year. I think we may have enough 3278 owners to make it happen. Also maybe a group buy powder coat.
