So I was at a second-hand shop (in the US) and, per my custom, I went to the electronics area and found this West Germany keyboard.

I used a DIN5 to PS2 connector, the used an active PS2 to USB connector and was able to test this keyboard. It is fully functioning. No cosmetic damage; no need to refurbish.

I have not cleaned it as I figured if someone bought this, they would probably wish to clean it themselves.

I have done some research, yet would like to get your opinions as to what this keyboard is worth.

It is probably made better than my current mechanical keyboard, yet I am returning to university to finish two degrees and I can use all the cash I can get.

You're looking at MAYBE $70 US. Probably less because it's ISO and not ANSI.

I'd say like €50 at MOST. German Cherry boards aren't rare or sought after at all except in German-speaking countries. Maybe a little more because it's in the USA but meh. People in the USA should just get an ANSI board.

We also have a thread for price checks.

I find them by the cubic meter at the local recycler and sell them for 25-35€ depending on keycap condition.

Sorry to bust your bubble, ANSI version would probably score something close to 100$ in a decent condition.

That's right. Regarding the value of your G80-1000 HFD/05 I'd quote it somewhere between what scottc and ohaimark said IF it was the proper layout for your region. Quite rare to see a ISO DE layout in the US.

Let me correct this, I didn't realize it's a G80-1000 ... have to agree with my comrades this is more a 50€ board ;)
