Keyboard/switch identification help! I haven't been able to find much on these boards:

1. Xerox Terminal board. Part Number shows 45-500008, date is "8311" (1983?)



2. Chicony KB-5191 (switches)
I can't tell what switches these are and will probably open them eventually, but can't find anything identical



3. Televideo - white space invaders (sounds clicky, maybe a terminal keyboard)
A friend came into about 20 of these so I don't have any on hand yet. Sounds like some kind of RJ connector. This is what he's sent me:

The guy is smashing the keys so hard you couldn't tell if they're clicky properly, but I don't hear two separate sound events.

Ya agreed. I watched it a couple days ago and just assumed clicky, but now I'm leaning towards non-clicky. I assume there's nothing especially unique about these, and the value would be around 40-50 or so (US)? He'll probably post them on ebay soon enough.

White Space Invaders on an older board like that would most commonly be linears - they're definitely not clicky judging by the complete lack of a clicky follower arm on the top of the housing. I also suspect linear, as the separator bar between the two contacts appears to be the wider linear version (tactile switches have a much narrower separator bar). Good call! I had to pull out my clicky space invaders again - completely forgot about that feature. Anyone have an idea of model or background? If not, I'll update once I get my hands on it.

Unrelated note: I'm so happy there are people who enjoy nerding out on keyboards as much as I do, and can school me on stuff like this. It's.. Emotions. I don't know how to end this thought, so I'll just do it awkwardly.... This way... Stop looking at me... :/

Not sure the xerox is magnetic valve. The tall magnetic valve switches have an internal spring and the top of the switch housing is different. Will be interesting to see what this is.

This is a Xerox 820 II keyboard. Have a look here for a similar one: keyboards-f2/xerox-820-ii-keyboard-928- ... t9233.html

I am still on the lookout for an inexpensive Xerox 820 II keyboard as I have one with a missing keyboard (I have two systems in total). If anyone has one (don't care if it's Cortron or MaxiSwitch), PM me.

It might be Cortron's foam and foil switches instead, although I didn't know they made them as early as that.

Cortron did make them pretty early. This keyboard is probably late 70s: keyboards-f2/hall-effect-keyboard-infor ... 15159.html. I did manage to acquire it but have not had a chance to take pics. The original poster did a pretty good job with his pics at the Dropbox link within that post.
