Hey everyone!
The IC group-buys-f50/cherry-mx-silent-black-t17065.html went fantastically, really overwhelmed by the responses.
A total of nearly 70,000 switches were asked for in the IC.
The GB link is here: https://opticboards.com/group-buys/mx-silent-black. These will be £26 for a pack of 120 plus shipping.
The US Proxy will be https://www.novelkeys.xyz/product/group ... -switches/
I'll add in a direct link once I have it. These will be $39 for a pack of 120 plus shipping.
These are PCB mount, non RGB switches.
The lead time for these switches are 10-12 weeks since they are being bought direct from a the Cherry Distributor here in Europe.
Let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks
George

How long will it be opened and will it be closed earlier if a certain number is reached? Don't have too much time the next days but I definetly want to buy a pack

It will run until the 16th of August. I do not have any plans to close it early
Thanks for the answer and that you run this awesome group buy. I'll join in the middle of next week

I have asked my distributor this, however I think that if there is a price drop it may only be at 96,000 (twice MOQ).Prelim wrote: ↑Can the prices go down, since MOQ is 48.000 and IC showed 70.000 interested?

Hello everyone!
First of all, apologies for the wall of text, but it is worth a read.
Unfortunately I have a bit of bad news. I have been informed by the distributor that the lead time for these switches is now **16** weeks instead of the 12 weeks before. This isn't really something that could have been foreseen this now puts the expected shipping date at 6th-13th December 2017. Yikes! I know to some or perhaps many of you this news will be disappointing, if there is anything I can do I would do it right away. Maybe we'll be lucky and in a weeks time when the GB closes the lead time will have shrunk, but I won't be getting my hopes up based on that.
The second part of this update is about the MOQ, which as you all know was 48,000 switches which we have surpassed by quite a bit. we are currently at 64,680 switches ordered, which is fantastic! However I made the mistake of assuming that I could order in smaller intervals over 48,000. The actual truth is that I can only order in intervals of 48,000, meaning we need a further 31,320 switches to be ordered to make MOQ, this also means that we cannot sell more than 96,000 switches as I don't think we have time to go to the next point of 144,000 switches. I have also had confirmation that there is no price drop at 96,000 switches, we'd need 5 times MOQ to even potentially have a price drop.
There are a few hours over a week left of the Group Buy, I suggest you order ASAP to definitely be in the Group Buy. The Group Buy will close when 96,000 switches are met if this is before August 16th 23:59 GMT.
If you have any questions let me know.
Cheers,
George

I don't think that it's strange. You have to see that 48k is one package so when ordering 5 items you get a discount. When you look at it from this point of view it's normal.

That would be the case yesgjooro wrote: ↑So if I understood it right, it's either 48k or 96k. If for example there are 80k orders, only first 48k will get in on the group buy?

Just to keep everyone up to date. The current plan in case we do not reach 96,000 switches is too order 48,000 switches and fulfil as many orders as we can in the order that orders were made. The remaining orders will be given the option to cancel for a full refund or to keep their place in the queue while orders come in for a "second" round of the group buy.
I think this is the way that the majority of people will be happy.

Just to let everyone know that Mike @ NovelKeys and I have came to the decision that this GB will succeed no matter what. I will be purchasing at least 10,000 and Mike has pledged to pick up whatever else is needed to meet the 96,000 that we need.

Crap, I missed this due to holidays (and having to catch up at work afterwards )...
I'd be interested in any leftovers.

cheers.

I guess Groupbuys like this one will be superfluous from now on. Look here:
