I got my partner hooked on mechanical keyboards by lending her my blackwidow. Only two weeks later she has been offered an ugly Apple rubberdome by her co-workers together with the urgent suggestion to take the offer...

Ha. I often take my KBC Poker with browns in to work, and it's only drawn favourable comments so far.

Same for me I use my Noppoo with browns at work and so far nobody complained about the noise. I also tried red (which I don't fancy too much for typing) and no problem either. I suppose blues are really noisy

First day at new job: g80-3000 with blues
Second day at new job: g80-1800 with ergo-clears xD
I still get complimented on my "machine guy typing" though.

I would go insane if I had to hear blues at work, but I don't really like them anyway. Both myself and my employee have Cherry browns and no one in the office seems to care. I will say, though, that I don't think they're any louder than the standard-issue Dell rubberdomes everyone else has, and they are certainly quieter than the newer scissor-switch Dells people are getting.

I've annoyed my colleagues with a Model M for two weeks. They didn't complain but I've got some curious looks. Now I am typing, I hardly dare admitting it, on a Cherry MY board. Just for testing my hand-dyed key caps, you know.

The trick is to let your co-workers use your keyboard for the day. I have converted 3 colleagues using this method

In the openspace where I work, my Filco tenkeyless in MX brown is a bit noisy but not much all the Noppoo, Filco, HHKB lite and HHKB pro around. A little bit noisier than the average rubber-dome Dell keyboard.

They have stopped questioning my sanity, at least while I'm around.Mrinterface wrote:But.... What do your co-workers say about those colors???
I tried to convince them of the superiority of mech keyboards but they're happy with their rubber domes. Well, let them.
