Well, I believe you when you say that it was worth it to you. I don't really consider myself to be a collector, but more of a user with too many keyboards, though. ;) I also don't really have the proper budget for that. My most expensive keyboard to date cost me, I think, less than the shipping of this board alone.

If I'd order this (from Ebay or from the seller's website directly (the Japanese board is actually more expensive there)), I'd have to pay 30€ + 50€ shipping + 15€ import tax + money for a converter (I guess at least another 15–20€?), and I don't even have a soldering iron or any experience with converting anything… But in all honesty, the shipping alone puts me off. Why is U(S)PS so expensive? This is sometimes so ridiculous that I pretty much ignore stuff from the US outright (which makes things like /r/mechmarket pretty much useless for me, apart from the fact that keyboards from the US mostly means ANSI, which is another no-no). I've seen 3$ items roughly the size of ⅓ of a pencil where shipping was 15$. Just no.

I should have picked something cheaper to be interested in. :(

Well, I have more than 50 fountain pens, so I guess I'm not that rational, either. These take up a lot less space, though. :evilgeek:

If someone can tell me how to ship a full-size keyboard from the US to any country (except Canada or Mexico) for under $60 I would love to know what it is.

It's probably not the answer you are looking for, but the ebay "Global Shipping Program" tends to be around 30$ for normal keyboards.

I really want to know how they do it because I've yet to see anyone charge me this price for a US to EU shipment.

I find this becoming increasingly suspicious. He listed it once and it closed at like $73. Second time, it closed at like $26. Now it shows up with a starting bid of $59 and a buy-it-now at %99.

I have the feeling he's trying to do a reserve without a reserve, just abandoning the auction if he doesn't get the seeming $100 he wants.
I am quite close with Blaise - the first buyer returned it because "he didn't like it" and the second bidder said that her son ordered it without permission and cancelled. He is quite fed up with this. :D

It depends on the domestic shipping price. The sellers who offer "free shipping" domestically will end up having a much cheaper GSP price while those who charge, say $20, will have the GSP price + $20.

TRUE, nothing bought from the United States arrives here, (if it weighs above 2kg) for less than $74.00USD (depending upon where it's shipped from within the US. I generally find anything shipped out of California to be a tiny bit less than something shipped out of the East Coast.

Because living here in Convict Town, the most isolated place on the Planet, you get use to the shipping charges which most of you would baulk at, again Beggars can't be choosers here. Just agree that if you live within the territorial borders of the United States, shipping is quite cheap when you compare it to other places.

Although shipping of stuff whether it be keyboards or mice out of mainland China direct is very cheap. I'm now using Bhiner to buy and import some stuff to my hell-hole here and the most I paid was $18.90USD for a keyboard. Couldn't buy anything on the east coast of my country and get it shipped to my address for that low amount.

I researched this last year, I think, because shipping from the US to not-a-major-country-in-Europe was getting even more ridiculous. The only answer that I found was a proxy service and shipment in a container that was expected to take 2-3 months.

The other problem that I will face, as a seller, is the uncertainty of where my buyer will be (true in the US also).

I can ship a keyboard just across the state line cheaper than I can send it to Alaska, but ebay's "shipping calculator" is wildly inaccurate and undependable. Therefore, I have to assume that a domestic sale will be on the West Coast (I live near Atlanta) and that an international sale will be to Tasmania (it has happened - pretty much the farthest point on the planet from here).

The US Post Office conveniently offers that "flat rate game board" Priority Mail box, so I get a definitive answer that I can rely on, but that is $18 domestic and $78 international. That is a nice box that will easily hold an F-122, a much smaller and lighter package may be a different story.

YES I do that with a bundle purchase via the company's books. We do buy pallet loads of gear for our vehicles and other mining equipment but due to the space available, I can usually put in extra purchases due to a greater area of space to fill.

Because everything is paid via our business accounts and it takes over 3 months shipping via sea, then placed on trucks for further distribution to our offices, the time it takes to arrive, will be anyone's guess. It changes from 3 to 6 months depending upon customs and excise checks.

Also paperwork is the fundamental aspect here, where the customs idiots have claimed in the past of not receiving any paperwork, when in fact it was sent via courier months before the purchase was sent from it's departure point. Good to always have backups, when dealing with our moronic/inept Government.

Wow, that price is actually not too bad, if I didn't have this already...

keyboards-f2/ntc-kb-6151n-at-xt-t8456.html?hilit=NTC

The seller is actually being honest in that his NTC has electrical problems and does not work so this is really something for someone looking for just the blue Alps.

REMEMBER that Alps SKCM can feel shitty when dirty and worn ! BE WARNED.

That's the LC Board, your second link points to a computerbase login which is useless.

I wasn't aware of the login stuff and marketplace requirements, sorry. It's only visible for active members there and I've heard that someone is already talking to him, else I could have helped to get in contact with the seller. This board is in nice collectors edition and it will probably find a nice new home at a dt members place

It's even worse on ebay.de where almost every beige Cherry branded keyboard is a "very rare vintage collectors piece" and around 80€. Same thing with Model Ms, etc.
Oh come on, here are three ebay.de Cherry boards with doubleshot caps, all called "Old Cherry keyboard rare collector piece" or similar, which sold just yesterday for between 4.50€ and 15.50€.
Starting price was 1€ for two and 5€ for one of them:

http://www.ebay.de/itm/282682575619

The same seller, by the way, still has quite many keyboards, including a few rather interesting things
Have anyone bought one of the keyboards from that seller? I bought a G81-3001 SAD 11 days ago and the seller still haven't shipped it. He printed the shipping label but Hermes is still waiting for the parcel.
Already mailed him twice with no response.

Since he is still selling lots of keyboards be warned.

Thanks, I'm sure you know the ebay procedure. Inform ebay as soon as you can if he still has not shipped. I've had luck with my buyers and sellers recently but you never really know regardless of the feedback.
