Hello
finally i bought these old french keyboards with strange cherry codes.
They were made for Goupil, a french PC maker in the 1980 1990.
The first one is a g81-0991 is an heavy keyboard in a nice black g80-1000 case, with a awful logo (my taste).
The black cable is AT.
The keyboard works fine and the switches are not MY as i first thought, but seem to be older than these, with beautiful and lightly used double shots keycaps. Keyboard without keycaps The Goupil brand (old french name for fox). Horrible logo. The switches and torn appart stabilizers. linear heavy switches. If someone has a clue on these ... Notice the nice white PCB (Edit it's a membrane and not a pcb ) cherry style code but strange one . And the very nice double shots azerty \o/
And a second keyboard, more recent Another goupil, lighter keyboard PS/2.
I was first disappointed about the keycaps, they look doubleshots, and aren't. Then i realized these are Dye-sub !! My first AZERTY dye-sub set!
Lightly used too. \O/ The switches are MY, not so bad, but you have to type at the center, and there is a lot of friction... And the code at the back The Keyboard works fine too.
So for an expensive price i had two not so cool keyboard (but nice cases, and two very nice sets of rare keycaps.
Thanks for your comments.
Edit : typos and bad english.

Very cool. I have one of the G80-1000 ones too, mine has MX switches:

Your black switches are old MY switches. They are a bit better in feel than the later white switches, but mostly just awful too. I did not know Goupil also made G80-3000 style cases, very cool.
Some of the most rare boards made by Cherry probably, nice find! If you ever wanna sell or trade the 2nd case (G80-3000 look-a-like), let me know

The black switches are merely an old version of Cherry MY. The white version, I had not seen before. :O Modern white MY look like this.

Wow you're fast
I may have an option on a goupil club, but it seems blocked.
Thanks for your help
I hope that the g80-1000 goupil was mx switches too as i saw on keyboardporn
You're on my top list if i ever want to sell it. I won't tear it apart

It was on purpose, just to check if you pay attention

Nice keyboards, Gilgam.
I have a Goupil keyboard in Cherry 1800 design I traded from Half-Saint. The keycaps are a slightly different colour compared to usual Cherry boards, the keycaps themselves are a light grey and the lettering is a very dark gray:
How about yours?

I normally dislike dark keyboards, but Goupil very nicely combined different shades of grey:Gilgam wrote:I have one set of keycaps from that keyboard, it's lighter inded. I miss the keyboard

Just a tip, if you feel the need to experiment by removing the springs (not something I enjoyed in hindsight), please don't follow the instruction that says to cut the plastic nubs from the bottom of the board; completely unnecessary.
Opening from the top is easily possible with them still on the board, and is actually what you'd do anyhow after cutting them loose.. so just two small flat screwdriver-like tips is enough (drop them in, point them a bit inwards, push and pull up- one open switch)
*edit: Comment applies to the old black MYs, whites no idea.
