Maybe someone willing to pay 250$ for an XT case swap? That's still pretty insane if that is the case
And the case isn't even compatible without modifications, there is really an insane ibm hype which is not really understandable to me.

But because it's some obscure protocol that I don't know how to convert and it is a nice keyboard.

Maybe you're making it too complicated. I bought mine (admittedly for less) at the time because I was into collecting IBM Industrials, and this is an Industrial Model F, very rare. It's a fine collector's piece. And in the auction maybe you just have some collecting folks with disposable income competing there. They don't make them anymore, and it's still cheaper than an average camera lens or phone. Also an asset of course, value may go up or down, but you don't spend the money like on a meal.

Price aside. Should I be concerned about buying an IBM terminal from that region/time period. Am I going to glow green after typing on it for ten minutes
I realize it's probably fine but still you never know where these terminals come from.

So you're worried about the keyboard being Radioactive ?tron wrote: ↑ Should I be concerned about buying an IBM terminal from that region/time period. Am I going to glow green after typing on it for ten minutes

Just get a Radiation detector and you'll be fine. Have two in my house that sometimes I use to gauge how safe some products are, coming out of China and the United States these days.

They don't look bad either though. The keyboard was in great condition (only some marks on the back label, unfortunately).

Oh well, I had one sitting at home that I bought locally for 10$.They were found sitting in a long forgotten about storeroom for years along with a bunch of other older Apple/IBM equipment.

Macboarder found a board, that I ordered for him. It's a really interesting find. We weren't able to find much information about it.
It was made by Multitech(which became Acer) for the Apple ][. Also used for their Apple ][ compatible MPF-III. We both would love to know more about the board and the switches, anyone?-)

As a quick aside from the great deals, someone posted my switches on Reddit. People do not seem to like me very much, accusing me of being a highway robber! The math works out to where I'm making about $1.50 per switch.
