First you post bullshit (obviously you hadn't even read the item description), then you acknowledge it was bullshit.
In other words, that's two posts instead of none.

A good idea would be for you to think before posting, but you seem immune to that kind of suggestion:

The number of posts are getting ridiculous now, I wonder if he is actually trying to boost his post count?

I was a dumbass, kbdfr, yes. But why need to always make a comment about such a small thing? I am actually taking your advice and just adding finds to the original comment, and I'm cutting back on the no. of posts, since I don't give a damn about having a large post count to boost my e-peen.

Please guys. My intention was not to shit-post. I just made the extra comment when the scam was pointed out, and made an extra comment instead of just removing it, and being done with it. :(

I'm still cheering on your enthusiasm from here, green-squid. Don't be too hard on yourself. :)

As long as you continue to try control your number of posts i.e. not spamming 4 posts in a row like you were doing, then I can't see anyone having an issue with you. Also had that Model M post you sent earlier been genuine I would've loved you. I almost bought 6 before I read the item description

A great deal on a Model M from North Carolina

Here is one review of the Hall effect keyboard.
https://reddit.com/r/MechanicalKeyboard ... _keyboard/

The wide keys bind a little and there is only 1-kro as someone said in another review.

oh.. So this is probably not close to as good as Honeywell HE or Alps green. but is this is the only old hall effect keyboard that you can convert to USB?

I saw a good deal on this keyboard and it looks so tempting! But this review paints a slightly different picture. It's such a unique keyboard with amazing keycaps (just as good as 7 bit's keycaps, and you get an entire keyboard for the same price), but not as good switches as they could be, and I'm still building that Zenith with linear alps once they arrive, and that should have smoother switches (skcl yellow). And these keyboards have a great history, too! I can't just impulse buy like a lot of keyboard people, you know!

And do I even need another keyboard? I don't know. I should be probably looking at a tactile keyboard instead, but I don't know which ones. Maybe if they perfect the XMIT tactile ones, that would be cool.

For what it's worth, modern hall effect keyboards exist, though I'm not very familiar with them. I know some manufacturers like Bloody have optical switches which should (in theory) have a similar key feel even if the switches themselves have different mechanisms.

That keyboard looks absolutely incredible, I've never seen a modern version of the MZ - pretty confident that it's SKCL/M judging by the LED cutout and profile.

It's most likely green Alps but please don't separate this system just for the keyboard, there are way more common boards with Green Alps to salvage instead.

Excuse me Unicomp, what happened to your SSK molds, again?

These were probably not made in the Kentucky plant, though. Otherwise, we could still have these bad boys produced today. :|

I don't think anyone cares about the switches. Those caps are a different story.

I think this was back when Unicomp made for IBM (like lexmark did before them) Once IBM moved away completely from the market, Unicomp lost the right to make or sell IBM badged items - at least according to them. This SSK must've been produced by IBM and then given to unicomp as leftover stock

And there are plenty of other Japanese Alps boards to destroy that aren't with their original system.

Very few have those caps in that profile with those subs though. I'm not buying it, just saying.

Looks cylindrical to me? If anything it has the same profile as Alps SKCC which would be even more useless to your average collector.

if they look cylindrical to you then i don't know what to tell you, because they clearly aren't. skcl/m compatible keycaps in this profile are sought after and hard to find.

Macally keyboard. Is this bad boy mechanical? I know MA used to do Alps boards.

No it's membrane unfortunately. Supposedly the caps are alps-compatible though.

No it's membrane. Macally usually made their membrane boards with Alps-mount sliders, but unfortunately the sliders are not centered in the key so the top or bottom row will rub against most Alps cases which prevents them from being used. Additionally, the modifiers use two Alps-mount sliders instead of one, so they don't fit.
