I wasn't aware that you can order it with a split left shift also. AFAIK, only the right shift can be split like the HHKBconstexpr wrote: ↑Finalized the main layout I'll be going with on my F77 and ordered the remaining caps. Pretty happy with how it turned out
Here's hoping it'll look twice as good in person!

Split left shift is standard with the ISO layout so I think it should be no problem to also include that with an ANSI layout as constexpr diddarkcruix wrote: ↑ I wasn't aware that you can order it with a split left shift also. AFAIK, only the right shift can be split like the HHKB

It is indeed, and that is nice since the extra key helps to replace the one lost to the giant return key. I'm going with the hhkb split right shift as well to get even more keys onto my ISO format.
I am hoping that Ellipse can confirm the cost to adding the Mopar blue keys since I am basically going withe the same layout as constexpr and love the look of those blue keys in that layout.

I'm toying with going not ISO+HHKB, but full-on TIE, just as the original F62/77 keyboards were (plus the two extra 1U keys instead of the 2U backspace). It's supposed to be a compact keyboard, after all.

That sounds like a nice option. I am going with UK ISO mostly to avoid confusion from constantly switching between layouts (since my work laptop has a UK ISO and I have switched my Model M and Novatouch to ISO layout models to avoid the constant confusion!).depletedvespene wrote: ↑I'm toying with going not ISO+HHKB, but full-on TIE, just as the original F62/77 keyboards were (plus the two extra 1U keys instead of the 2U backspace). For people that saw the F77 at the meetup, was there a compact or the zinc (classic looking) case? I ordered the classic/zinc, but after using a Novatouch for the last couple of months at work I am worried that I won't like the slightly larger footprint of that case. (and this is after years of a full sized Model M - I had no idea how much nicer it would be to work on a case without the keypad - unsurprisingly, that case was clearly not designed to be used alongside a mouse!).

I lost track of the right-hand-legends discussion, was this layout actually possible? I'm talking about the 789456 with Ins-Home-PgUp-Del-End-PgDn sublegends -- those aren't offered, are they?constexpr wrote: ↑Finalized the main layout I'll be going with on my F77 and ordered the remaining caps. It's possible — Ellipse confirmed it here:Scarpia wrote: ↑I lost track of the right-hand-legends discussion, was this layout actually possible?

wobbled these are not expected to start going out until later this year. Sorry I don't have a firmer timeline.
Yes each of the extra keys on the Imgur page are available, please ask me if interested in adding any to your order.

Because that does not include the keys from constexpr’s mockup - the numpad ones with command cluster sublegends on the 789 and 456 keys

I'm glad that they're the right colour for some, but I'd imagined something more like the HHKB black with black legends. Back to black blanks then?Ellipse wrote: ↑ The 60% dark gray samples also arrived and are shown below. I think it's the best we can do to have a legible legend but please let me know what you think.

The unicomp black caps are odd, I think the black ones are a different plastic then the othersdepletedvespene wrote: ↑(those can be easily sourced from Unicomp)lakofsth wrote: ↑I'm glad that they're the right colour for some, but I'd imagined something more like the HHKB black with black legends. Quite probably. They're also 1-piece, instead of 2-piece stem and cap, like all the others.codemonkeymike wrote: ↑The unicomp black caps are odd, I think the black ones are a different plastic then the others

It might be the picture, but the 60% reminds me of the Unicomp Gray and doesn't impress me as much as the 80% did.Ellipse wrote: ↑The 60% dark gray samples also arrived and are shown below. I think it's the best we can do to have a legible legend but please let me know what you think.
Any chance we can get a comparison picture between all 3 ... the 80%, 60%, and Unicomp's Gray?

So is this the classic zinc F77 and the compact versions lined up in the photo? If so, the compact certainly looks a lot smaller. I am starting to worry that my love for the lovely retro solid case might end up costing me in terms of usability.digital_matthew wrote: ↑Here's a picture of Ellipse's table.Takashi wrote: ↑Thanks! I will say that the small form factor one is heavy as hell, although I think the one on the table is a milled prototype not a cast production one.evoman wrote: ↑ So is this the classic zinc F77 and the compact versions lined up in the photo?
