Cortron Foam and Foil?

Most likely as you can see the capsense pads on the back of the pcb. if it was a magnetic valve version you would have 4 through hole pins.

I don`t think the Carrera II comes with the clear linear Cherry switches. They are used in the Carrera and Carrera SI, but those can also come with Marquart 6180 switches. My guess is that the Olympia Cherry switches where adapted to meet the Marquart 6180 specifications, so that Olympia did not need to change the typewriter case design or the keycaps. the stem is basically the same.

Hey, I'm a bit new to the keyboard scene. I picked up this keyboard at an everything-must-go sale for $5. To be honest, any keyboard is better than my current one. I've tried searching around and looking up different numbers on this keyboard, but haven't found anything. Do you guys know what keyboard this is?

Foam and foil for sure, I had a similar keyboard. The F&F was roasted but the caps were nice, I am currently using them on my home computer (with cherry mx switches in it)

Not really "what is that keyboard" but what is this layout? Never seen it before...

Looks like a French layout but the ";", "!" or "@" for instance aren't placed the same...

I'm pretty sure some french dude got a laptop from the UK and swapped out some keys to have a somewhat ISO-FR layout

Ah! You seem to be right! The "@ '" and the "| \" are strangely placed on the same key... And it was indeed in a French shop where the guys seemed to had a lot a trouble typing on it! Because obviously, some keys didn't typed what was written on it... The layout was set in "FR" in Windows but hey, sometimes it's not that easy

Pretty sure this thread isn't the best place for this question but it usually gets replies, so here goes:

Does anyone know of a way to use ALPS SKFL switches with a modern PC? The wiki entry gives the impression that they were used exclusively in laptop keyboards (and in Atari computers). Are there any stand-alone AT or XT compatible keyboards that have them? Or is there some form of low-tech workaround?

It uses Tulip dome with slider switches (the wiki page only mentions rubber domes). They're quite good IMO.

I just got these keypads from a fellow keyboard modder. Seemed to be made by Elcom, ps/2 cables, relegendable keycaps, 3 of them has plastic casing, while one has a metal casing with a long flip out leg. First I thought the switches are cherry clear, but I was quite surprised when I pressed them as these are linear... Anyone know of these keypad?

If the caps from the keypads won't cling to a regular MX switch but caps from regular MX will fit on the keypads, they're likely to be these switches:

Yup, confirmed, the caps don't fit regular MX switches. So, I guess these are kinda rare, right?
