Just spotted this nicely restored SSK;
https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/IBM-SSK-w-N ... Sw88RbGZKv
I think this guy also did some Model-F restores with vegas-styled lighting in the past, but I could be wrong....

That's definitely him, he goes by just_add_coffee on DT and is probably most recently known for this rather lovely F122 restoration:Elrick wrote: ↑Just spotted this nicely restored SSK;

The work he does is really quite amazing when he doesn't try to bling it out.

A model F XT, 4 minutes remaining, currently at 334€. I wonder why people are bidding so highly on this: https://www.ebay.de/itm/IBM-Tastatur-vi ... 3276994331

It just ended. 58 bids and 334,35€ final — a nonsensical price for an F XT. I can only imagine the kind of... er... Richard-swinging there must have been between the bidders for such a final price (and that's not assuming the keyboard contains a certain piece of whatever contraband there may be... although that is probably a better reason for this result).

In the US when I click that link it doesn't go to a listing for a Model F XT. No way a vanilla XT is gong for that price unless folks in Germany are really hard up for XT and if so I will become an exporterNoobmaen wrote: ↑A model F XT, 4 minutes remaining, currently at 334€. That's crazy. I bought an XT from Germany and had it shipped to the states for less than a third of the price.depletedvespene wrote: ↑It just ended. 58 bids and 334,35€ final — a nonsensical price for an F XT. Can tell you what it was bought for...http://buyee.jp/item/yahoo/auction/c666086426 same scratch on the palm rest. I fired 45,000 Yen at it but got blown away. It's the ITW version as well, which is nice.depletedvespene wrote: ↑Should we run bets as to how much this one will be sold for?

Model F XT for $50 shipped Buy It Now.
The seller says it doesn't work when plugged in but I have my doubts they would have a proper XT-Protocol machine working to test it.

Gone already. Refreshing to see an F XT at a moderate price, after that other one.

Damn, that went fast.
It looked to be in pretty good physical condition externally, in any case.
As far as refreshing XT deals go, I did manage one with a cut cable for $46 about two weeks ago. Still need to get onto converting that one.

Agreed, he even captures my attention when he doesn't go all 'Vegas Lighting' on any of his keyboard restores.Blaise170 wrote: ↑The work he does is really quite amazing when he doesn't try to bling it out.
Just has to learn, he gets more attention to his work when he leaves the lights off every time .

This particular battlecruiser's main feature of note is how late it is — IBM UK produced IBM-branded keyboards until December 1999 (at that time, the US plant was already Unicomp), and this one is from August of that year. The latest one I've ever spotted in the wild (i.e.: eBay) is from late October 1999.

I wish I still had one or more of them. Until a couple of years ago they were hard to unload even in the $35 range.

Oi, that's one of those boards that I've been interested in for a long time, but not at that price point. I'd consider $100, but not $200+ after shipping.IamFist wrote: ↑Anyone looking for a Skidata?

Pretty sure it's the same peddler who's been selling them for years now. He got back from whatever break he was on. They've always been expensive.Blaise170 wrote: ↑Oi, that's one of those boards that I've been interested in for a long time, but not at that price point. I probably would've bought one ages ago if the price got into the affordable range.

Oh, before he realized how much money he could make with them, he sold them for way less,Chyros wrote: ↑Pretty sure it's the same peddler who's been selling them for years now. here's a listing of his which ended 23. Nov. 2012 and curiously enough still can be seen on eBay:
https://www.ebay.de/itm/271109363545
He also had some without a trackball - they were cheaper

Tbh, the trackball definitely rounds up the product nicely.kbdfr wrote: ↑Oh, before he realized how much money he could make with them, he sold them for way less,

It's a shame that this guy's been the only source of these for so long, and at such a high cost! xD
