Oh? I thought that price was pretty standard for those, if not on the higher end. Perhaps I am mistaken?madrobby wrote: ↑Decently priced IBM Model M Battleship https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre ... 3325299842

Well, they take offers, a good sign that you can haggle a lot of the price off. I regularly do just that, sometimes I get stuff for 50% off...ZedTheMan wrote: ↑Oh? I'd love to own a beamspring board, but for that price I could build a really nice gaming pc,grab a 4K monitor and still have enough left over to build a sweet custom keyboard.madrobby wrote: ↑Another Beamspring up for auction https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre ... 1650639847

Just saw this and I don't know whether this has become pure sacrilege or intended stupidity.

The case was beautifully painted but his destruction of the layout by eliminating the BIG Enter key filled me with immense hate and disgust towards this person.
He had partially destroyed this GREAT keyboard without even knowing it. Typical youngster's who seem to think they know better when it comes to 'upgrading' anything .

Those issues aside I do like that paint job of the top case but the bottom didn't turn out well. You may recall a blue whale Displaywriter painted the same color.Elrick wrote: ↑Just saw this and I don't know whether this has become pure sacrilege or intended stupidity.

I believe this Nimble NBK-2104 has Alps compatible caps (but not 100% sure), lots of colors https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre ... 3039392172

Yes, it appears to be a linear spring-over-membrane with Alps compatible sliders.madrobby wrote: ↑I believe this Nimble NBK-2104 has Alps compatible caps (but not 100% sure), lots of colors https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre ... 3039392172

I don't think that is actually a youngster. He DOES, however, seem to think he knows better (as his previous jobs have repeatedly shown).Elrick wrote: ↑Typical youngster's who seem to think they know better when it comes to 'upgrading' anything .

My reaction was different. I much prefer a US ANSI layout, although I am thus far content to wait for one that was born that way. I've been known to paint some Nothgates, but that glaring blue provoked a seizure in the aethetics lobe of my brain.Elrick wrote: ↑Just saw this and I don't know whether this has become pure sacrilege or intended stupidity.

I'm half-tempted to get that Nimble but I'd feel guilty for ruining a working keyboard.

A pity 2 caps are missing, but this way one can see the switches.
And the "Rub Out" key is there

That is actually quite a rare beamspring with the Silver Badge IBM Logo on it. I don't think I have seen a beamer with the silver IBM badge.
I would for the price need it USB converted with working solenoid, and the insides should be inspected for any rust ect.
Also that is a MASSIVE beamspring, not display writer either.
Not even sure which model that is.
