while checking the logs I noticed that 2011-01-28 01:45 is the forum creation date. Sixty arrived only at 14:39 later that day. Mrinterface and 7bit arrived a few days later.
The first post though is dated 2011-01-29 21:34:56, so I'd say January 29 is the official birthday. Also the same thread reveals @webwit real intentions. Most of the users in that thread are no longer with us unfortunately.
So anyway, one day late, but happy birthday to us.

I sent my retrocomputing stuff to Sixty in early January and got a Space Invaders keyboard from him a couple of weeks later. He also gave me some advice regarding NMB switches.
BTW, he told me that he's not interested in keyboards anymore, but apparently he's very much into retrocomputing.

I would love a retro computing sub as well. Would be nice to have a place to talk about what we connect to the keyboards

Strange how paths cross. I was into retro games way back in the 90s (anyone remember Zsnes, snes9x and Snemul?) and software emulation for vintage Mac (miniVmac, Basilisk). Had friends who were into Amiga emulation too, and to a lesser extent the hardware itself.stratokaster wrote: ↑30 Jan 2019, 16:07BTW, he told me that he's not interested in keyboards anymore, but apparently he's very much into retrocomputing.
What got me into keyboards wasn’t the old systems—I always wound up with lousy dome keyboards when I picked up vintage Macs—but the shitty modern ones of the time. When I found I could use an IBM XT keyboard with a community created converter, I was in. Then I got one of Mr. Interface’s switch sample boxes and got lost in the vortex…
By the way, Sixty did reappear some years ago for a little while. Loads of us said hi. It’ll be in his post history.

Happy birthday, DT!
I may be (relatively) late to the party, but the party hasn't stopped yet!

Unfortunately, due to economies of scale making birthdays more widespread and affordable, the booze has been replaced with cheap grain water.
