Id love to see more of it, even if it feels like shitAJM wrote: 07 Mar 2019, 14:26 We're currently closing the office, where I work. There came up this "Sun SSK" keyboard:

The key feel is quite awful - like poking a mattress, but the SSK layout looks interesting.
What do you think? Should I give it some care and post more pictures or is it trash/not interesting?
Yes, please don't kill it of just yet. We would like to hear more about the "Sun SSK"AJM wrote: 07 Mar 2019, 14:26 The key feel is quite awful - like poking a mattress, but the SSK layout looks interesting.

Yes, do save that "Compact 1"! Myself i got the full-size variety just because it looked so good (and I thought old Sun was cool...)AJM wrote: 07 Mar 2019, 14:26 What do you think? Should I give it some care and post more pictures or is it trash/not interesting?
Seems rather high to me, but they are getting very scarce. He is a member here, or on GH, or both, I have dealt with him before. And he might discount the price for a direct off-ebay sale.
I guess it isn't really a good deal by any stretch, fair enough. But it also isn't terrible.fohat wrote: 11 Mar 2019, 02:25Seems rather high to me, but they are getting very scarce. That is a hell of a Model M mod,not sure all the extra brass and leather is worth what they're asking.
I love these steampunk projects, that is one of the most interesting ones I've seen, although I don't actually like the design itself and it certainly isn't as clean as Datamancer's work.
I will get it the next days, if there is interest I can make a Post with some Pics( uncleaned vs cleaned aso.) is there a way to get the keyboard working on a modern PC ? i liked the keyboard and that it was a complete system uff I couldn't resist buying it.Anakey wrote: 28 Feb 2019, 16:11Same switches as Haata's Tastatur 280 very unique switches interesting to see the full unit along with the system it was designed for.Keybug wrote: 28 Feb 2019, 14:47 Very cool-looking Siemens keyboard dinosaur! It's this one.dotdash wrote: 12 Mar 2019, 17:17 I have no idea what this one is. Maybe an 80's terminal keyboard?

The listing description says "Rubber dome, PS/2, DIN5 connection, it works."Lanrefni wrote: 13 Mar 2019, 19:52 Not sure if mechanical or not,but it does look rather interesting, and it's pretty cheap if I didn't have an AEK II in the mail I'd be all over this just for the way it looks
And that's what I get for posting something while still waking up from a nap.ajs124 wrote: 13 Mar 2019, 20:26The listing description says "Rubber dome, PS/2, DIN5 connection, it works."Lanrefni wrote: 13 Mar 2019, 19:52 Not sure if mechanical or not,but it does look rather interesting, and it's pretty cheap if I didn't have an AEK II in the mail I'd be all over this just for the way it looks
Key Tronic Foam-and-foil. The interesting bit would be the built-in trackball.
Nice find! 1800 layout. Caps seems dye-subs? It's use MX or MY switchs?
Unfortunate, I think the case and caps are dopeMyoth wrote: 14 Mar 2019, 18:03 it's not dye sub, there isn't any 1800 dye sub
this keyboard has been on ebay since late 2017, and he never reduced the price
