Sits in something called an East KB-5102 that a guy is selling, and i cant seem to find much info about.
They remind me a lot of SMK spring-over-dome. Those are nice. But that could maybe be just a dome with slider.
Where can I read more info about it?Findecanor wrote: 20 Mar 2019, 03:34They remind me a lot of SMK spring-over-dome. Those are nice. But that could maybe be just a dome with slider.
Ah I see. Thank you!Findecanor wrote: 20 Mar 2019, 09:26 I couldn't find any existing info about them when I got them, unfortunately. I saw only "SMK" on the PCB.
Those are Alps common mount low profile, my unit has them as wellRauha wrote: 27 Mar 2019, 11:29 Coulf use some help identifying. Got this Toshiba T3100e today. That model is known to have Alps SKFL switches. However, mine clearly does not.
At first sight I guessed SMK 2nd gen, but nope. Then maybe Alps SKFR/SKFS, but it's not that either. No visible branding.
They feel definately very Alps linear like(ish). Very smooth and light linear switch. Despite the low profile it feels like full travel switch. I'm actually not at all disapointed getting these instead on SKFL. They feel great. Would just like to know what they are?
Those look like Honeywell Micro Switch magnetic reed switches. Those were common in the 60s. My guess is that there's a kind of cover over top. The screw positions are correct for those switches.Aran.E99 wrote: 03 May 2019, 19:39 Found an old numerical keyboard from what looks like the 60's on ebay. Sorry for the low quality image:

What could the switches be?
a view from the top would make it easier to identify, but considering the japanese keyboard, I'd expect Alps SKBM WhiteRaumfahrer wrote: 09 May 2019, 11:23 Hello everyone I’m new to this world and recently got this keyboard in Japan. I’m still waiting for it to arrive, and I was wondering if anyone knew what kind of switch this one is ? It is from what is called a Scythe SCBK06 using a true JIS layout. Like ISO but with more rad keys
Spoiler:
thanks for the reply. I will take a more detailed photo when it arrives. As far as keyboards here go, it was on the less expensive side (under $50) and looked very cleanMyoth wrote: 09 May 2019, 12:01 a view from the top would make it easier to identify, but considering the japanese keyboard, I'd expect Alps SKBM White
$50 for an Alps board with Japanese sub legends isn't a deal,it's a steal.Raumfahrer wrote: 09 May 2019, 12:03thanks for the reply. I will take a more detailed photo when it arrives. Isn't the other Fujitsu keyboard you purchased membrane as well?snacksthecat wrote: 16 May 2019, 01:20 Sorry if it's obvious -- What is this key switch?
It's linear and very very smooth. When I took the keyboard out of the box and tried it out I assumed it was Fujitsu leaf springs but I thought those were discrete switches. This is a membrane keyboard so now I'm confused.
