IDENTIFY THE KEYSWITCH thread
Well then, looks like I have a few more switches to buy and stock up on incase anyone needs some.
If the tall one is indeed a magnetic or hall effect, that'd be nifty. I'll get one and dissect it, see what's inside. It has that clip on it and it does lock like a capslock. I wonder if I remove the clip if it'll work like a regular switch. I guess I'll have to find out.
Thanks for all the help. I'm having fun looking through all these things.

Hi everyone,
For my first post here, I have a question regarding an old Pendar keyboard from the 90' with the following key switch:
It’s the first time I see such a mechanical switch (loud and mostly linear by the way). Did you recognize it?

Clare Pendar made plenty of their own switches:

And indeed:
wiki/Category:Clare/Pendar_switches
I’m only very vaguely aware of them myself. Could be you’ve discovered something undocumented.

Cherry mount? The switch on the right with the pale blue stem certainly wouldn’t take Cherry MX caps.
The keyboard is clearly some new thing with the modding market in mind: detachable switches via plate cutouts and PCB support. The three switches actually installed are all modern looking, like something from Gateron and friends. That third switch looks like it could be their answer to Cherry ML. (A question few asked!)
As your image is sourced from https://mykeyboard.eu/ I’d take a good look around there.

Yes, that was my implication, too! I just fancied a nitpick. The concept of switches which are MX PCB compatible yet cap incompatible seems downright daft to me. Caps are so much more important. A low profile switch can work within that constraint. Think of Cherry’s own M84 for instance!

What are these?
They look like blue Alps to me, but then they don't. I'm no expert on identifying different Alps switches, but the blue Alps should have a slit, right?

FD and the folded metal pin for one of the contacts means it is an alps clone.
And you hit it on the head with the lacking slits.

They aren't terrible switches IMO, but they suffer from being in a switch family with way better switches in it, so they are bad vs alps, but good vs MX.

I think that could be alps.tw Type OD1.

So you are that guy bidding on that ICL keyboard I am looking at, huh? I had been hoping that it would go under the radar...
They are called Ericsson switches. The keyboards were made in Bräkne-Hoby at a factory first owned by Facit, then bought by Ericsson Data. It merged into Nokia Data which was later purchased by ICL. ICL was later absorbed into Fujitsu.
In that stabiliser arrangement, one of the switches is a dummy.

Found these on ISNJK-168/268/RB88. They look like wiki/Alps.tw_Type_T8 grey variant but mould numberings are different. Hua-Jie AK-C5/D5 perhaps? Or some other clone?

Looks like some kind of space invaders, but I don't know which kind. Sorry for bad image quality, it is from Taobao.

If it's something good, I'm planning to buy it as the mounting plate looks pretty clean.

First gen space invaders. I have the same keyboard but with different branding. The keyboard itself is a bit cheap-made, but the switches are great.treeleaf64 wrote: ↑15 Dec 2019, 04:11If it's something good, I'm planning to buy it as the mounting plate looks pretty clean.

Actually, I will probably not buy this, because if it is dirty it will be a nightmare to clean and restore.
