If you can wait a few months, the price will probably drop when the Unicomp line comes out, and even with shipping to Europe a new one shouldn't be too bad.

Unfortunately, Unicomp has a very high shipping fee. On top of that with VAT we are looking at around USD 200. So basically quite high if you ask me. Hence the request for an original SSK.

I have an extra SSK with Displaywrite keycaps that has been bold modded. I'll be selling it soon. Not sure I can let it go for less than $200, though. Let me know if you are interested.

I don't expect the price of original SSK to drop at all. There is still the collector's factor that you have to take in account.
Shipping from USA to Europe is very expensive and you also have to pay customs and import tax on top of that. Not worth it in my opinion unless you can get one for under $100.

$200 for a modded SSK is basically what I sold mine for about 7-8 years agoadamcobabe wrote: ↑03 Apr 2020, 12:19I have an extra SSK with Displaywrite keycaps that has been bold modded. I'll be selling it soon. Not sure I can let it go for less than $200, though. Let me know if you are interested.

Prices for these ride a roller coaster. Every couple of years they seem to spike for a few weeks or months. Once, about 5-10 years ago, there was a colossal spike that lasted for months. As I recall, even shabby ones were selling for $200-$300 and nice ones were bringing $400.
There never seemed to be any rhyme or reason for the timing. I suspect that the availability of brand new ones from Unicomp will stabilize the market and collecting originals will become a niche.
