what does the circular 4 button thingy do below the spacebar? Are those multimedia buttons?

My suggestions (posted on Google form as well) non-backlit version, any black and Durock T1 switches as options, or kit form without keycaps (except spacebar keycaps) or switches, just the chassis and PCB.
