Ooof, I always wanted a Honeywell terminal, but I don't think that person will be willing to ship to the US. And even if he did, I'd imagine the shipping costs to be insaneMMcM wrote: ↑24 Jun 2020, 02:50One of those HAL KB2100s that went with a Morse code encoder:

KB-5150 label with bad kerning very much like the Chicony in another thread from a couple weeks ago. Except the LED windows aren't the same.
Has APL legends on the front, but they look like decals.

That actually makes a lot of sense. He (or she...women can be extortionists too!) probably had the last bid of $315 hoping someone would beat it

It looks like it has two type of keycap profiles. The black keycaps look like they're from a Keytronic board. And the gray keycaps look like keycaps that typically come on Hi-Tek Stackpole switches

Ironically, I have a lot of these that I’m pretty sure just have fake 32u2’s on them which is why the computer doesn’t see them as even plugged in. If I had some reworking skills, I could probably fix them all and have more available for sale for my previous price of around $60 :-/John Doe wrote: ↑25 Jun 2020, 18:00Oh, fuck, who go to sell some to the seller with 350$ price and let he profit from reselling?Weezer wrote: ↑25 Jun 2020, 17:55https://www.ebay.com/itm/In-Stock-Xwhat ... May end up investing in some rework equipment too, but not sure what equipment is known to work the best due to lack of experience with rework stations. Any suggestions?

I almost don't want to post this, but I think it'd be too difficult to source the missing keys and plungers.

While I'm sure that can happen, you'd have to be really careful on how you do that. Remember that ebay is not free: they're taking their 10%+ out of every auction. So, unless you're a really big seller, you're going to bankrupt yourself pretty quickly.
It can also be natural, though. Say you find a nice make/model keyboard. You talk it up here. The Elder Gods come down and also approve of that make and model. Some ebay seller comes by and sees the make and model is gaining popularity, so he buys a couple boards and sells them at a markup. If he starts making good money, maybe he'll buy some lesser keyboards of the same make and sell those at a markup. Lather. Rinse. Repeat.
I mention an example of this in another thread: I had a really nice Model M 122 that I didn't want to sell, because I had some nifty restoration plans, but I have a couple other project boards I'm just as happy working on. I put it up on ebay at what I thought was a high markup, before doing the resto, just to see what interest there'd be. Somebody bought it. That surprised me.

Not really. If a shill bidder cancels the transaction, then the eBay seller doesn't pay any fees. So there's no loss to the seller.hellothere wrote: ↑26 Jun 2020, 23:43While I'm sure that can happen, you'd have to be really careful on how you do that. From my experience of making xwhatsit, its probably because of lacking or wrong using bootloader for the atmega32u2 you choose, more like lacking given the pc no response when plugged in.
You should try to flash the original bootloader and the xwhatsit firmware then.

Rumor on the street is that it was purchased by the seller for $5. That’s a hell of a profit margin!
