I have a 1984 Model F122 whose case has small hairline cracks. Doing an easy case swap would be awesome!

I wasn't aware that the cases of 1st generation Models M122 were compatible with Models F122.
Is it straightforward to do the case swap, or is some modification required?

Well, only if you need an F-122. That's a perfectly fine price for an M 122fohat wrote: 21 Aug 2020, 00:06This one is not first generation. I would generally say, "Missing an awful lot of keycaps and some of those switches are broken. It'll be hard to get parts." However, I needed a square root key for a Focus 8000 and found one on this board in about 5 minutes

I ended up winning this one. I put in an offer on a Model F XT (listed as Vintage IBM keyboard or something) about an hour earlier, but didn't realize they where being sold by the same person until I checked the next day and my fair offer was actually accepted and I had two items on the same receipt. They didn't combine shipping costs, but the items were still well priced and well packed in a large box.hellothere wrote: 02 Aug 2020, 18:11Ad's still active for the next day.xxhellfirexx wrote: 24 Jul 2020, 06:04 Marquardt Mini Ergo

Well, there is something that smells bad in that auction, there are two retracted bids from different users around the same time, one of them for $3,316 !!!!kmnov2017 wrote: 31 Aug 2020, 16:52 Anybody who increases the bid by a 100 a full 4 days before the bid ends - doesn't have a clue on how auctions work.....

Y'know, I was going to ask, one of these days. I've seen a couple people mention FLS "4th generation." The Wiki only goes to 3rd generation. Perhaps the archives are incomplete.xxhellfirexx wrote: 01 Sep 2020, 03:35 Looks like this guy picked all the right SEO keywords.

Just found this IBM 5285 terminal with what looks like a 5251 beamspring keyboard for sale in Italy.
https://www.subito.it/informatica/ibm-5 ... 102330.htm
It's been up for a long time, guessing that the shipping fee for this 50kg behemoth might be a bit steep.

Can you expand on that a little? There's an IBM 5285 computer and they had a 5251 beamspring keyboard with them. I'm just interested. I also doubt I could afford the shipping.gianni wrote: 02 Sep 2020, 23:40INCOMING SCAMbonnee wrote: 02 Sep 2020, 23:13 Just found this IBM 5285 terminal with what looks like a 5251 beamspring keyboard for sale in Italy.

Like I said there has never been a keyboard available. The same ad can be seen on multiple websites, with the same picture. At this point I don't even know if the computer exists or if it's a trap. The guy can't even write in Italian. He makes many mistakes in English too.hellothere wrote: 03 Sep 2020, 00:47Can you expand on that a little? Why do you pick only a small part of a long sentence made of many different facts and then try to draw some conclusions?Weezer wrote: 03 Sep 2020, 07:44 Being up in multiple locations isn't evidence of a scam, and the price is 1 euro? What would be the payoff
The owner refuses to take down the announce because he's having fun, or maybe collecting infos from people who contact him. There has never been a keyboard for sale (probably because it never existed). About the computer, I don't know, but the thing smells.
