Has anyone here tired to get a keyboard machined in the US?

If so, how much did it cost compared to getting it done in china?

I'm going to assume that the difference is pretty high, but I don't know squat.

One-offs are expensive no matter where you get them made. I am curious about this also, would love to hear some experiences with it.

In your case, what is it you want made specifically? Stacking layers allows you to use cheaper material. Thick material costs more than thinner material. Are you talking about 6061 or what?

It's pretty much what you'd expect, a pretty substantial difference (I don't remember exactly what it was when I was getting quotes for waterjetting, but I did end up going with a place in Vietnam that was probably half the cost of BBS). Plus the quality has gotten much better and the tolerances have gotten a lot tighter.

What materials exactly are you guys using? I think metals would be too cold to be comfortable on cold days. What types of plastics are options?

Am I the only one who hears "deee taach ahh bull peee niss" when I read this guys' threads..
