Hi !

A friend of mine suggest this place for help me. I have an IBM Beam Spring 6580 keyboard in good condition. It's untested, with german layout. Can somebody help me how much it's worth ? I want to sell it on this page. Everything helps. Thank you
Give or take 1K USD
Gosh, it's a good and neat offer on which I want to do the following consideration. How much would rise the final price if this deal went forward considering that the seller is European and the potential buyer bids from USA if I don't go wrong. The point is. Are the customs duties due only to us Europeans or also to our American friends?
My question is just for curiosity sake and don't want to be polemical, of course.
Thanks for answering....

Hey all, I'm wondering what these guys are worth:

- T-ZONE limited edition gold Filco Stealth FKB-92ERG, sold at Macworld Expo Tokyo 1998, 1 of 100 made. A Macintosh ADB keyboard using Alps SKCM White switches, comes with a generic grey ADB cable.

- Akihabara Mac Academy limited edition Filco FKB-97S, sold at Macworld Expo Tokyo 1998. Another Mac ADB keyboard with Alps SKCM White switches. It was likely made in a similar number as the gold Stealth, and comes with the original box and a black ADB cable.

- IBM JX PC 5511 keyboard, with box but missing the foam. Alps SKCL Green switches, I think? They feel so nice that I'd keep the keyboard as my daily driver if I could figure out how to convert it to USB. The keyboard part number is 6454042.

What a sexy looking IBM beastie  .

Only thing would change, the Green ALPs into Pine Whites instantly, if it ever ventured down south to my domain.

I'd say $90, it doesn't look like its the best to type on but its very eye-grabbing and interesting.

I'd say $100 it has a neat layout and chrome.

I would put it around $200. Really neat board and gorgeous logo.

It's D code and doesn't seem very used, so yeah, the 120 to 150 region seems realistic these days. That's for good condition on doubleshot caps and switches.
Stretching it though, at 150 I might expect something fancier than D already.

Hello,

I need help with estimating the value of this Cherry G80-1000 which I'm looking to sell. Its from the first production period (late 1988's), so it has an A code (I heard people go crazy over those on ebay for some reason). It's in overall good condition, but the case has a crack on the left front edge. I don't have any MX Blacks to compare, but they don't feel very different to a g80 1800 I once had.

It's the same board you see on the wiki article for the G80-1000 HAD (wiki/Cherry_G80-1000).
I only superficially cleaned it, which is why the cable is still nasty and there are still some little smudges left.

I remember a couple of years ago, your neighbour Mendlesons sold them on ebay for less than 40$. Unfortunately, shipping prices were as much as the double of the keyboard value to EU without mentioning custom fees. I'd willing to shell out about 80$, even doubling their real initial price but i'am afraid about import fees and shipping costs. Satisfied by my evaluation?

Thanks. I actually paid about $80 for these back in 2018. Given the low evaluation I would opt to hang on to them for a bit longer.

Out of curiosity, did you pick up three of them or rather you haven't tried them yet? I wouldn't resist the temptation to click clack on them.

Indeed these are a lot of fun to type on, I have three Pingmasters and a Ping Jr. The first Pingmaster was purchased about a month before I purchased these sealed units.

Yes, but it depends on what style Omron.

If you're talking about these, I've seen probably equal for and against posts. Not that I was looking hard, mind you.

If you're talking about these, most comments I see are positive and the switches are worth more, primarily because they're difficult to find.

I'm talking about the "orange" stem switches... the keyboard is also using smaller green omrons for function keys as well as Home/End/Insert/Delete/PgUp/PgDn. Will post a picture when time allows.

I have a few NOS IBM Model M kbs made in Greenock around 97. They're all US layout terminal boards with an extra key on the numpad and some legends specific to their original use in a bank system. Most of them are good to go but a couple have some broken rivets. Should I do the screw mods myself or do people buying NOS Ms want to do that themselves? I could also do internal soarer's with a 3D printed mount that looks pretty clean. It takes the place of the original cable and is fully reversible since it just uses the stock mounts/pin header. Side note: would there be any interest in me selling just the internal converter?
Spoiler:
Shadow makes it look funky; it's just solid grey. ImageImage
Any ideas on best way to go about selling these/how much they're worth?

Is Focus FK-8000 (w/ some Alps clones) in a rough shape worth any attention?

I imagine the only attraction is the calculator, if someone can make it work, but I could be wrong.

> Is Focus FK-8000 (w/ some Alps clones) in a rough shape worth any attention?
I sold one in great shape with white Alps.tw_Type_OA2 clones about 3 months ago for a bit more than $100 US and it took a while to sell. The keycaps and calculator are probably the biggest selling points.

If the calculator doesn't work, there is a mod you can do to add a new screen that can do a bit more than function as a calculator. Chyros has it in one of his Focus videos. IIRC, it's around $50 to $75.

I wouldn't really mind buying one with all Futaba clicky switches.

=========

@jsheradin, I've bought and sold at least a half dozen Model M 122 terminal 'boards. There are two kinds of buyers: me. I'm looking for a cheap 'board I can fix so I can resell for at least $75. Them. Most folks are looking to have near perfect, ready to go keyboards and will pay in the $100 range for that. So, yah, replace rivets if a lot of them are gone. The adapter helps with the sale.

Some people know that Unicomp exists, so, make sure you note in your ad that they're IBM made. You might also want to check pricing on Unicomp's website for 122s and not charge too much more :D.

I like your adapter a lot, especially the block for the motherboard and the 3D printed USB end that makes use of the existing mount in the Model M case. It looks a lot prettier than what I make. I'd pay $15 for one. Like right now. Shut up and take my money.
Other folks might pay more. Orihalcon's are $35, IIRC, but those are external.

Where to sell? Well, ebay. There's a marketplace here, too.

Something you could also do is buy some standard keycaps for a 101 key Model M, pop them on the terminal board where they're supposed to be, and sell them with pre-programmed converters that have the proper layout. That would be cool. Even buy a Windows key for the left side function keys. I've thought about doing this, myself.

Hi there
I want to offer an Ultrasound Classic 1MB in exchange for a blue alps keyboard in the WTT category. Is that against the rules? How much is it worth? From what I can tell the price fluctuates between 150 and 500$/€s.

Edit: This might not have been the best topic for this answe but anyway, here we go. Sorry about that.
