Bills need to be paid so another keyboard is up for grabs. It's virtually unused, judging by the keycaps as they appear to have all of their original texture. They're thin doubleshots. The switches are plate mounted Cherry MX Black with diodes.

The keyboard has a regular 5-pin DIN connector but I'm not sure, if it's PC compatible and I don't really want to risk testing it. I cleaned the dust inside after I took the pictures.

Asking 100€ + shipping.

P.S. Some interesting info on Videcom: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Videcom_International

I am open to offers.

Eventually I'll be listing this on eBay as well to increase my chances.

It's a nice board, but 100 euro + shipping is a lot to pay for an untested board. Looks like it was made in 2001, so AT compatibility is likely, but it also looks like a replacement keyboard for a unique terminal system so it's not guaranteed.

Either way it'll be easier to find a buyer if it works.

May I ask what the risk is in connecting the keyboard to a PC to test if it's working? Could either the computer or keyboard be damaged? I'm interested in the keyboard if it does work. Thanks

I had one of these for a long time, it speaks regular AT, although the regular layout is complete garbage it gets remapped fairly easily with soarer's converter

Decided to get this beast out, I like it a lot :D
Here is the remapping I had done on mine :

Code: Select all

remapblock

#mapping caps lock is now control
	CAPS_LOCK LCTRL
#mapping RControl is now Caps lock
	RCTRL CAPS_LOCK
	#LCTRL is now LALT
	LCTRL LALT
	#tilde is now esc
	BACK_QUOTE ESC
	#f2_extra is now backquote
	EXTRA_F2 BACK_QUOTE
	#U32 is now hashtag_hash
	EUROPE_1 BACKSLASH
	#BACKSLASH is now dead
	BACKSLASH UNASSIGNED

	#Inversed T arrow cluster
	BACKSLASH LEFT
	INTERNATIONAL_3 RIGHT
	LANG_4 UP

	#removing old AT style arrows
	LEFT UNASSIGNED
	RIGHT UNASSIGNED
	UP UNASSIGNED

endblock

Hey Myoth,

do I understand you correctly that the keyboard is compatible with the AT protocol but the keys themselves need to be remapped via software?

it works perfectly OOB with a simple AT-> ps/2, it's just that the layout is all over the place (especially everything around the main cluster), and needs a remapping to be perfectly fine to use with a soarer's converter for exemple.

Can you program all those PF keys using just the keyboard? Have you managed to record macros like this? Thanks.
