I've had this board for a while and thought I should post it.

The Alpha's are Hiragana with a mixture of Lavender, Purple, Light Blue and Black Dye-subs with Coral flair, and a split space.

The history of this board is a little on the vague side, it appears it was part of a propriety DTP systems released around 1985 by Fujitsu Xerox for the Japanese Market called the J-Star.

Based on available information I have found the system cost $6,000 (iirc) due to high price and rise of the PC based DTP software provision it sold in commercially unsustainable numbers and was discontinued by Fujitsu Xerox.

Switches are Neon Pine SKCM with Heavy Grey SKCL

Apart from a couple of bits of fluff and a eyelash under the caps it's still in great condition, amazing really. If anybody has more information, I would like to know. All i've found is a single blog post from 12 years ago and few lines from the Fujitsu Xerox history microsite.

Sorry about the photos, took them while taking the caps off for cleaning.

Overall, i'm pretty pleased with it.

Definitely stylistically similar to the later US Star keyboard, though it's a completely different mechanism and several of the function keys have been shuffled around. The original thick version of the J-Star keyboard seems to have been exactly same as the Star except for the cap labels, so I wonder why they didn't do likewise for this.

I am amazed. I would give a few choice organs just for the caps alone! Much less the switches, which add an interesting element to the neon alps universe. Overall an incredible find!

Those caps are absolutely incredible, switches be damned the rest of the board is in a league of its own
