Is it worth anything considering it cant be connected to anything? Or it can? 11pin connector never heard for such.

I would file this one under “interesting” as it’s a Model M that was skinned alive, turned into a Frankenstein’s monster, then had IKEA desk lamps bolted to it... but it does have a certain charm. No doubt took a lot of work but the decimal point still feels wrong.

I'm actually kinda curious how the seller was able make a functional keyboard in a Model M using what seem to be Cherry MX keycaps. Ideas anyone?

Edit: I see now in the listing that they used actual typewriter keys. I still wonder how they got the mechanism to work.

There used to be a buckling springs spherical keycap project that never came to fruition, and I still pine for a set of SA doubleshot sphericals on an F122. So if progress has been made in one way or another toward such a goal, I'd love to know.

Internesting Nixdorf PC with a keyboard I've never seen before. Could be Nixies, for all I know, can't find any information about the switches online. One guy on youtube demonstrated the system, and at least on his one, the switches weren't clicky.

If you can monkey with the height, you can flatten the backs of caps and epoxy them to IBM stems.

65% form factor, good looking keycaps and rather rare switches. If you were to sell it, I think many would be interested in buing it. I know I would.

Nice find and nice price for such a rare and unique board- I can concur that you will be getting those weird derivative switches. I have the same exact board with a “BLAZER 386” metal plate in the left hand corner.

That cybernetics switch looks almost identical to apple hairspring. That is extremely weird wiki/Apple_hairpin_spring

Yeah that's what I thought too, but minus the hairspring on the top. Quite weird. I'm waiting for a picture on the other one, but it looks Keytronic from the PCB.

Terminal wise, the 3276 included an integrated control unit whereas the 3278 was strictly a "dumb" terminal, however they supported extended attributes like colors :O over the 3277.

Keyboard wise there is no difference. The only exception that I can think of is the A02 keyboard with the large colored buttons and lights on the top, which was always paired with a controller. However a 3278 could be connected to a dedicated controller such as a 4300, so really any 3276, 3278, or 3279 could come with any of the keyboard associated with the 3276 3278 or 3279
