POS Keyboards...

Anyone have any cool Point-of-Sale keyboards they want to show off?. I personally don't have any.

Vaguely related, I am fascinated by the idea of a massive grid of keys that I can (in theory) customize to my heart's content. Maybe make some sort of "un-separated" split ortho keyboard with like a numpad in the middle.

Happy to show off

This is an old pic (2015) of my daily driver.
The physical layout hasn't changed, but many keys have been reprogrammed and/or received new keycaps.

This is a Tipro (MID range) POS keyboard consisting of three modules. It has Cherry black switches, every (absolutely every!) key is (freely, i.e. also with extended macros or e.g. Unicode characters) programmable on 4 levels, with the configuration stored in the board itself.

Nothing for gamers, but exactly what a mouse-hating professional typist dealing with extensive text files and sometimes weird software, occasionaly transcribing audio and video files, and often performing demanding searches i.a. in multilevel multilingual online databases, needs.

damn, that's awesome! I'd love to see that behind a cash register some day. I can only imagine the size of the terminal/computer/etc. I wonder if you could make the outer key grids a split keyboard and how comfortable it would be.

If I approached a cash register armed with a board as wide as that, I'd be so anxious about what I'd just gotten myself into I might pass out. A board like that could price you up a house! From a patch of grass to all the individual components…

That is very pretty. An ortholinear layout I could certainly get on with too.

Yes, they're POS caps from SP / 7bit's Round 5. I put them on the board to tempt me to actually get around to making a custom controller for it with a Bluetooth Adafruit Feather I've had lying around for years. Like this? I've got access to the bare matrix inside, but its own controller really bugs me.

The display is a Dell P2415Q. Nothing fancy looking, but the panel is 4K at 24 inch, which makes it a desktop Retina display to me.

My keyboard consists of 3 independant modules which are physically and electronically assembled (using standard Tipro parts).
Modules exist with staggered layout (lke the middle one in my board, but there are also other staggered configurations) and matrix layouts in different sizes: 16x8, 12x8, 8x8, 4x8. And also modules for a magnetic card.
And yes, you could use two 8x8 matrix modules as a split keyboard without any problem. That’s Tipro

Yes, another Tipro beauty.
The newer range (with non-standard staggering, though).
Even I have to admit it looks terrific.

It doesn’t count at advertising as long as you don’t provide a link to your sales thread

I always wonder how neat the desks posted on DT are compared to mine.
Perhaps it’s because I actually work here and my keyboard is a work tool and not a showpiece.
Plus, it’s a Tipro. They’re tough

Every once in a while, I decide to clean my desk so I can get back to that clean minimalistic, relaxing feel. Then, after about 2 hrs, it gets messed up again by some project and stays that way for approximately the next 45 days.

Thank you. It's an Epomaker GK68XS. It's my only hot-swappable board so it gets a lot of use as I try out different switches. (Kailh Creams are my current favourite for their sound). It's programmable too, not keyboard-side but via downloadable software. I thought I'd use the split spacebar as backspace but I couldn't get used to it - it's so embedded to reach for the actual backspace key - so I use it to access different layers instead. Very nice package overall (except for the keycaps and switches it came with from the previous owner!)
