They are indeed Key Tronic linear, so a bunch of repair work before trying to get anything electronic working.

That seller is reasonably well known to the DT and the vintage computing communities. He purchased a warehouse that I think had previously been mentioned on here. Pricing is okay, but hardly what I'd call a bargain for anything he's got. This seller sets pricing by looking at eBay completed listings.MMcM wrote: ↑17 Apr 2021, 01:26IBM 129 keyboard

Exactly right. Dibs please. If I get this one, I'll gladly give a discount on some not brand new but still quite nice similar boards.motoko wrote: ↑17 Apr 2021, 01:06Laser branded VTCL. Not sure what switches but we think SMK Cherry mount?

Mind you, the shipping is $65, so maybe not much competition.

Am I missing something in this ad for Apple Keyboard IIs? 132 sold at $99 each, with shipping in the US for $30. They might be Alps mount, but they don't have Alps switches. Is everyone confusing them with the Apple Desktop Bus KB?

Oh, well, if you really want it, have at it. The seller said they'd charge actual shipping and refund any overage, in case that's what's stopping you.vdublove37 wrote: ↑18 Apr 2021, 00:32I was planning on going for this one but since I snagged the ITW board I would be a bit greedy to get both!

I pass on these when I see them because the key feel is so awful. But lots of people are just looking for a keyboard for their vintage Mac restorations and these fit the bill nicely.

The AT&T giveaway one by Dr. Lipschitz, it's in the process of being converted. I've been thinking of filling out a nice vintage clicky collection for bringing to meetups, but unsure if I'm willing to splash the cash for Alps SKCP, a Model F, SMK, Space Invader, etc.XMIT wrote: ↑18 Apr 2021, 01:17Oh, well, if you really want it, have at it. I'd focus on boards that people are much less likely to see. What's been missing from the meetups you've been to? I'd do a Fujitsu Leaf Spring (FLS) clicky before a Model F, for example.vdublove37 wrote: ↑18 Apr 2021, 01:21The AT&T giveaway one by Dr. Lipschitz, it's in the process of being converted. That's true, I actually haven't been to a meetup yet, I'm still pretty new to the hobby. I figured it could be cool to have an offering of the big clicky vintage boards for people who might only be used to MX boards. The Model F is more for me because that was my first board and one I kind of miss. I would love to try a clicky FLS though, I didn't like the linear one I tried. I wonder what the tactility is like on those, if it has any.XMIT wrote: ↑18 Apr 2021, 02:51I'd focus on boards that people are much less likely to see. Good call. He probably just wanted to flip anyway, hence the things like $225 for an ADB converter or $130 for an Apple Design keyboard. Not as bad as the clown that cuts holes in iBooks and paints them garish colors and tries to pass them off as special prototypes for $1500- but close.

You might have a point. Back in the late 80s and through the 90s when I owned my own Mac, I probably did buy the cheapest KB available, because almost always Apple parts = pretty expensive. I also knew nothing about mechanical keyboards then. The dude selling has 100% positive feedback on 9213 sales/buys.XMIT wrote: ↑18 Apr 2021, 01:18132 unhappy customers.hellothere wrote: ↑18 Apr 2021, 01:03Am I missing something in this ad for Apple Keyboard IIs? 132 sold at $99 each, with shipping in the US for $30. I recently paid about $20 more for an iPad because the seller had more buys/sells and slightly better positive feedback than the other seller I was looking at. This buy worked out for me and the front screen has no scratches at all. Seller mentioned and took pics of some scratches on the back. IRL, the scratches were as pictured and I bought a case to cover them up, so no problem.

Perhaps an unpopular opinion but I do not see the appeal of blue Selectric keys on these 3278/3279 boards. The standard white ones look so nice already.

that was sold with an offer, not at listed price. If you make an offer on a listing with that available you'll get an email from ebay saying what it actually sold for. I'll sometimes send 3.50 offers even though I know it'll get auto declined just to see what the actual sale price is. I didn't do it for this board but I kinda wish I had
