Preh Commander PC 1 keyboard. Couldn't find anything on the wiki, but looks interesting enough.

never seen a single unit backspace on an omnikey, how common is this?

Not common. Only the very early ones had that. And the On/Off switch, which (presumably) swaps the Ctrl and Caps Lock positions like a Focus FK-555. The stabs/guides on the spacebar are odd also, which I hadn't seen before. I've seen exactly two like this in the last thirty years, and this particular one was posted here previously, but it's been messed with since then. The original caps have gone missing, and of course the price has gone up.

viewtopic.php?f=2&t=22705

Chyros shared a Focus manual since then which explained the On/Off switch function.

The other one was posted here also, as an ebay sighting several months back.

I can't figure out what it is, but it looks interesting. Does anyone know what this is?

Those are apparently not Marquardt butterfly switches but still, looks like a nice, sturdy board with a very nice cable.

Switches are Mitsumi Miniature Mechanical, which are pretty meh unless they're in good condition and you lube them.

My best bet would be SMK Discrete Dome or Alps Integrated Dome.
Not a good price in such case.
6-pin DIN screams Fujitsu Leaf Springs 3rd Gen to me. It's a pretty KB.

I agree, but apparently that doesn't bother some people.

I found a photo of a Focus FK-555 with the same odd stabilizer method on the spacebar:

Other FK-555s have the normal Omnikey stabilizers, so this must have been a running change on both models. Always something new...

You may be right, but the consensus on this one was Alps Integrate Dome, it seems.

I'd definitely say that I could be wrong.

Again, to me, it's such a nice looking keyboard that I'd hope it has nice switches to go with it. I think that FLS are OK as a switch type, so I wouldn't have minded picking it up if the KB had those switches. IIRC, Alps Integrated Dome was one of Chyrosran's top worst switches.

Those are definitely alps caps, so odds on it is indeed SKEU/W

I recently bought some blue and white alps from him and was happy with the quality of the switches. He mentions the switches are lubricated with “Max-Pro”. I’m curious to try this on some dirty Alps I have. He also included a bunch of alps documents!

Anyone know how often these pop up? They use what is as far as I know a pretty unique switch (or at least slider), although I've heard of them being found in typewriters by one guy. I only know of 2, one posted to reddit and another in the deskthority discord.

small note - stabs are known to disintegrate, which seemed to happen to both the one posted to the discord and the one on reddit.

I'll repost my warning: I bought a lot of switches from him. IIRC, I wanted Alps cream damped. He ended up sending me a handful of random Alps cream and white switches. I complained and his response was along the lines of, "I'm an old guy and can't tell colors apart anymore." I also know that there's one poster that bought a case/PCB/mounting plate set and they said that the PCB was a jumble of lifted pads.

More on topic, someone should buy this: Dell w/black Alps + Siig Suntouch (full size) w/pine white Alps. Together, it's $100 and shipping is extra.

Looks like both have pad printed keys that are wearing down and a couple caps are missing. However, that's not a big deal: I recently bought a new set of caps from Tai-Hao that'd fit the Dell for all of $35. For the Suntouch, you could always try to find a Chicony, NTC, or Adesso that has Alps mount switches. Or you could sand the keys down and you'll get blank caps. Or both.

I saw this one the other day. If you know what the switches are, please post. I really like the key caps.

EDIT: I was sure that I had checked the wiki, but I guess I didn't look hard enough: Mitsumi Standard Mechanical.

Wiki suggests it's a variation of Mitsumi Standard Mechanical.

wiki/Monterey_K7S

I had one of those about thirty years ago, but I don't remember what the switches felt like. It must have been interesting at the time.
