Crisp, light clicky with mild sounds, unwilling to stop after typing begin. :)

One of these days I'll get a Facit typewriter, but until then I guess this calculator will have to do

Just got this bad boy. Early, linear space invaders. Dirty, but the switches still feel very good. Terminal board, so I hope I can somehow convert this. Does anyone here know more about that one?

Picked up a ton of stuff today from a 75 year old who told me he was just running out of time.
You can look at those here, but I'll focus on the M0110A since this is a keyboard forum I suppose :p
Image
I've been looking to get one, and all of this came free! It's not a very special keyboard or anything, I suppose, but I can be proud. The keyboard wasn't mentioned in the listing, so I was kind of praying he had it, but even if not it would've been a stellar haul. The switches actually feel remarkably clean, I love this thing! Definitely needs a bath, that'll happen soon enough.

M0110s and yellowed spacebars, name a better combo...

And you even got two of those original mice, very nice! Love this board and yours looks great.

As if I want anything to do with these cunted mice. They're awful, but they look cool, I suppose. Lol.

Thank you!

Hahaha, I've seen some people retrofitting them with a new PCB from a modern mouse with an optical sensor. A very hipster thing to do and to use, but why not?

It's mint, won't even have to change the foam anytime soon. Always preferred the 327* just from pure looks, but not anymore. The layout and shape are near perfect for me. I love it.

I always love seeing the insert card on these things. Chef’s kiss! Do you use a “floating hands” method or did you get a giant wrist rest?

I always typed with floating hands and it feels very natural with the 5251 for me. No wrist rest needed, but it'd surely look nice. Were there even original IBM wrist rests that came with that model?

The choice is yours of course, but I would recommend cleaning out the old foam and dust protector either way as it will still go bad and corrode the metal and affect the plastic.

Thanks for the hint, you were absolutely right. While the foam looked ok from a distance, it was already broken down and fell apart from just touching it. Was a mess to clean everything up, that stuff is nasty. But it's done now at least.

For sure man. That foam is nasty stuff. It's an even bigger pain to get off after it's worked its way into the switches or caused damage to the metal and plastic. Prolonged exposure to the offgasses from the foam can cause the switch housings to form crystalline shards on their surfaces.

Edit: oh btw in case you don't know, you have your num 0 and num , key installed upside down in your photo. :)

Had a few arrive this week. These are the first two to grace my desk.

Love this thing. Functionality is spot on. Key weighting is light enough for me to use it for work all day. That god damn track ball cut out in the space bar though! My space bar discipline has been honed since having a BFK on my desk for the past two weeks but this forces me to tuck my right thumb in and twist my hand slightly; not cool Focus, not cool.

Finally got a TKL Apex Pro. I still have my gripes with it I mentioned here, the stabilisers in particular being in need of work. Overall, having now used this in anger for a good few hours gaming, it is a joy to use. Typing on it now ain't bad either. I'm not into my light linears but, aside from the stabiliser rattle, this board sounds pretty good!

The Apex Pro feels and sounds pretty nice, but yeah, the stabilisers are AIDS. You cannot disassemble the TKL version without damaging it, so you'll never be able to tune the stabilisers.

I think those are actually quite comfortable compared to the brick of a mouse that is the M0100. And I say that as a person with giant hands :)

Still have to get used to the single, centered mouse button but I've assigned the keyboard's "power key" above the numrow to the right mouse click, which is a good enough solution for me.

Pet peeve: cut keyboard cables. Why? If you're going for real security, you need to completely chop up the keyboard. Well, I guess I'd rather have the cable cut than have no keyboard at all.

I decided that I needed to see for myself what all the fuss is about with Topre and there's a 30-day return policy, so I'm all good.

I'll be fixing up the Dell and Zeeeenith and will probably resell both. I have a couple of really nice salmon Alps KBs already and green Alps are too heavy for me ... he says, while typing on his brown Alps keyboard :D.
