In that case, top kek. Regardless of intent that is an excellent copypasta.

YES, the PING will always be GOOD.
That is why everyone loves old keyboards, otherwise you'll buy a brand-new Korean Custom and shut the f*ck up.
Enjoy the blandness and boredom of the MX crowd, forever more.

I'm on and off with ping-sometimes, you just want a simpler, bassy sound from your board, and ping can take away from that. Other times, I don't mind it.raoulduke-esq wrote: ↑29 Oct 2021, 04:26Too right m8- too right. If anyone doesn't want ping I'll have theirs.

First post in a while here again, reading the last weeks only. Crazy what people post and how they post, wow, Discord, Geekhack, wherever else one could think is like so, but no, it is Deskthority! Haha. Nevertheless I am shocked I must say. Soarers thread lead me here again.
But the reason for posting: highly sceptical on the long term for this mod, when it is similar to waxing other things. Nice in the beginning, but humidity and abrasion etc. will kill it’s nice friction maybe in a shorter time than you could think of. At least that’s my experience with wax, and because… well you read it here: like religion

Hey Madhias! You sure picked DT at the deep end! There’s just something real special about lube, certainly in how people debate about it.
Still haven’t actually tried waxing Alps myself. I wonder the same as you. I’d rather see how others handle it for a good while before I commit a keyboard… then quickly commit ALL of them in a zealous frenzy before I realise What Have I Done?

I am smiling, it feels like that restaurant which was really good, then it got a new owner, different guests came, again another owner, and you come back after some years for a beer, maybe stay for another one and meet nice people
I am waxing not only my hairs from my body (no I don’t), but other things too, like wooden drawers, bicycle chains. It’s always good, but I wouldn’t want to re-apply with 100+ switches from time to time as I do with wooden drawers, bicycle chains. But great idea and tips and tricks in the other videos.

5 months on for me, I've mostly switched between 3 different waxboiled keyboards as daily drivers so the total use time is less than that for each of them, but they all seem to feel as good as when they were first done.
