Well, like I said I think it's break even at best even if you use a motorcycle to travel the 3 hours to the Cisco Office or whatever building they leech the bandwidth from. Time is money.
I'd never question the need for profit (profit provides incentive to constantly improve the site which these days it NEEDS) but am saying why be SO secretive about EVERY thing. It's like Fort iMav these days. I wonder what the Post Stalinist era will look like?
Not a BAD movie btw but definitely Aussie humor.

I remember him saying that they use it opposed to ads. And that it was quite enough to cover costs.ripster wrote:Now iMav HATES to talk about this but he gets revenues from Viglink referrals.

Don't know where you get the "hate" from. Or is it just to stir things up again?

I'm still working out issues after the divorce. It's like I come home and the house is locked and my Porsche sold.
My therapist says it gets better.
Anyhoo, the issue was never me.
It's just I don't know how 23 noob moderators was EVER a good idea and iMav just never wanted my input on it.

I used to work in secure programs/environments and it got to me after a while, not sure about security companies. Some folks are just private, you know like private messages, and some folks are the opposite and want to tell all and know all.ripster wrote: GH = McAfee when it comes to openness.

Excellent observation. No baaa.
It's weird when a forum goes from 100% Hippy Navel Gazing to Stalinist Regime you must admit. I mean, you were gone for the LONGEST time and it MUST look a bit different.
At OCN I KNOW what to expect. They send me polite pms, I do what they ask me, I collect 239 rep points and am happy. At GH you have pretentions moderators like Kishy, Alacrajism, Mkawa and Demik yelling at you all the time in whatever subforum you are posting at.
DT needs Karma Points. They calm the soul.

I had a buddy once, we were all into classic cars. Wife got tired of playing second fiddle to the cars, filed for divorce and took his 1966 Shelby GT350 fastback, for maximum pain infliction. OK it wasn't a real Shelby by birth but was physically the same by the time it was done, all parts were genuine even the interior that came out of a wreck. Only the VIN would give it away and it still hurt.ripster wrote:I'm still working out issues after the divorce. It's like I come home and the house is locked and my Porsche sold.

I had a friend who gave his wife a STD after a business trip and was "surprised" when she filed for divorce soon afterwards.
She got the Coal mine.
He got the shaft. But he DID keep his Porsche.

Ha! I worked with a Pharmacist in the stores that had that happen to her. Too bad the STD was herpes... and she got it in her throat.ripster wrote:I had a friend who gave his wife a STD after a business trip and was "surprised" when she filed for divorce soon afterwards.

SURPRISE!
Yeah, I didn't ask his wife for details. Last time I saw her she had a broken collarbone from a bike accident.
This is the kind of juicy stuff you never see on FB.
Why did you blow away your subforum?
You gonna ask iMav to delete your account next?
Or is it just a Trial Separation?

It was easy, and I didn't have a lot of content. I don't think I'm going to ask iMav to delete my account, but if he did, I wouldn't be too heart-broken. I'm not going back, that's for sure.ripster wrote: Why did you blow away your subforum?

Why don't you ask Webwit for the ItlnStln/Ripster Click&Clack thread? We can compare wines and recipes and swap Divorce stories!

Lawyers I guess.off wrote:And she got to keep that how exactly?TexasFlood wrote:filed for divorce and took his 1966 Shelby GT350 fastback
Wasn't privy to the details but wouldn't be the first time a guy got screwed in a divorce especially when kids are involved. Typically the wife always gets the kids and then right or wrong that can become a bargaining chip.
He also had a couple of very old, like 1950s vintage, corvettes that needed restoration and a new Cobra he drove. The GT350 was recently restored and perfect. While not as desirable as the 1968 Shelby Mustang GT 500KR convertible (white over red) that a guy near me owned when I was a kid, it was still pretty sweet.

When talking to my Wife I always side with the woman. When talking to my Male friends I just nod my head and don't believe a word they say.

I think I've got it all backed up now.
Thanks for the offer though!
Keep em coming. Especially anything by Kishy or the ones with my name in it.
Are they spelling it right or am I "TheOneThatMustNotBeNamed"?

Shame that viewcount =/= posts =/= content.
*I'm not helping that with this now am I...
That does explain stuff. Somehow figured she took off in that car then filed for divorce...TexasFlood wrote:Laws/kids.off wrote:And she got to keep that how exactly?TexasFlood wrote:filed for divorce and took his 1966 Shelby GT350 fastback

Yeah, that one has been bugging me too.
I'd ask WebWit for a hands off Ripster Subforum but I have concluded Site Admins are control freaks. LAST time I upload 1000 pics and 50 keyboard guides only to be banned from editing them.
but I am slooowwllyyy adjusting to the divorce
