Purchased. I'm not sure I'll be able to stand the look of such a thing on my desk but the switches have intrigued me enough.
What offer did the seller accept - or did you buy for asking? I’ve been wanting to have a go on one of these too.
£16 + shipping.
My sister is considering getting me to put together a desktop for her. I reckon this ugly duckling may end up on her desk; we shall see.

Never mind - I just bought one rather than risk they ran out (when I sent through an offer there were 7 competing offers - clearly a lot of interest) £24 is a good price to try a new switch. I passed up the chance to get an Alps Buckling Spring board recently which I half regret, but they are said to be heavier than Model M springs, whereas Syncan are lighter, which suits me better.

I think that’s about the going rate for an AT, based on memories of the last few months rather than any harder data.

Anyone know why this microswitch board is going for so much?
https://www.ebay.com/itm/294838082188
Seems like a pretty average one in terms of character/aesthetics. I suppose the bidders might have an original system that they need it to go with perhaps?

I think it's pretty.
I don't know of a specific reason why this keyboard is going for that price, especially as it's missing two caps and one switch stem is broken off. However, I'm not the Micro Switch expert.
EDIT: sold for $1136.

That's the only FLS KB that doesn't need a converter, right?

Yes, I think so. I have another FLS which I know I’ll never get round to / be able to convert, so this is definitely a target for me. I do love the click: it’s like a Futaba clicky, which I also love.

I have, I think, three FLS keyboards lying around. One or two just need converters built, which I'm pretty sure I have instructions for. The other one has a 12-pin DIN or something else equally freakish that I need to research more.
If I win the auction at $12, I promise to sell it to you for $50

That is the most well known FLS KB that does not need a special converter. There are others like these.

The bottom one speaks IBM AT and all keys have 2.5 to 3mm thick ABS key tops with a steel backplate.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/265582926489 Keyboard chassis from a typewriter with Marquardt switches. Pity it's in such bad shape. Only 30 Euro.
Speaking of Marquardt, I was watching one of those "antique" restoration videos on YouTube the other day. It was for a ginormous bench grinder. They popped out the power switch. Labeled Marquardt.

Are those Marquardt Butterflies even worth it? (Worth it as in "grab it now while you still can")
Plenty of listings where I live, but I'm not sure whether or not I wanna start another project before finishing all the others...

I'd really rather have one with more intact switches than this one has, but if you have another one of these and just need a couple switches to finish it off, that's not a bad price.
I also wanted to mention
https://www.ebay.com/itm/313914724972?V ... 3914724972. Alps, possibly from a laptop, but I can't say I've seen another laptop with such nice-looking keycaps or one with a 1u Enter key.
Note that the Alps KB was relisted. Seller initially had free shipping for everywhere. Somebody won it for about $35 ... and then the seller relisted it. Probably sells to Germany only, now.

It's
Alps semi-integrated dome. I have a unit. The keycaps a super nice and compatible with SKCL/SKCM, but the switches are subpar domes. The shipping shows 40 euros for me, which is a bit steep considering I live Denmark - Shipping would usually be 8-18 euros or so.

Have a listing for a complete typewriter with these, intact keyboard, good condition, including shipping fee for less ... Soo, you're not really making it easier for me to make a decision here
