Most pointless dome with slider?

I recently bought some old keyboards hoping to get lucky with them. I didn't. But among them I found some dome with sliders that I had not seen before. Not being able to find anything about them online I thought that, I might have ran across an undocumented dome with sliders. Well the keyboard was not unknown. With post about it on Reddit writing it off as a generic rubber dome. And I can see why.
The ACK-295 has the most pointless dome with sliders I've come across.

This bastard feels just like any generic rubber dome keyboard you would find at the time despite having what looks like dome with sliders
Image
And they are sliders alright.

However unlike other dome with sliders these don't have any feets to go around the rubber domes. Rather they rest directly on the domes. Therefore you still get that same iconic rubber feel that you get with regular domes.

The only advantage I could possibly see with this design is the ability to change out the keycaps. And indeed these keycaps do feature alps mounts.

Except when comparing it to a regular alps cap l notice the mount point it slightly higher up on this keyboard. Making it impossible to replace these caps with better alps caps as they just end up getting stuck when pushed down.
So I find this design pretty pointless all around.

Has anyone seen these or similar dome with slider designs? Do they have a name? Maybe this is a more common design and I just haven't seen them until now. I tried looking at all the dome with slider articles on the wiki but couldn't find any matching these.
