Hello Everyone, it has indeed been too long. I have not been around the keyboard scene much but i have recently started to get back into it and boy have things moved on! I have myself a Keyhcron Q1 Max with geteron reds (since when did geteron make such nice switches ?) and i want to take advantage of the hot swap feature to have some fun with all the fancy pants modern switches i keep hearing the kids go on about. This is a fantastic board by the way, super quality case, keycaps etc and for the price! That is just mad.... " back in my day .......".
What i am looking for as always is for nice liner switches and with the insane number of options out there nowadays i am a little out of my depth. The gateron reds in the Q1 are .... fine but i am looking around to see if there is anything better something with a bit more weight to it but not in the range of MX Blacks, i would also want something nice and smooth , so pre lubed ( the gaterons feel lubed ).
So what is out there that is worth trying that is easy to get a hold of.
P.S dont worry i still have all my fancy vintage stuff and my beloved realforce and novatouch.

Not on the cheap side, but you may want to try the Aesco A67 or A63 with Inductive switches.

Just got mine yesterday. Great initial impression. The build quality is spotless. I'm happy.
Time will tell for durability.

Thanks i will check them out , I got some gateron milky yellows v2 they are very nice but i would be interested to try some others as well. I even made my own space bar switch with a MX black spring that i have dubbed the milky bee switch
.
This is getting dangerous , i am getting back into this stuff :O
Can the switches work in a Q1 being magnetic ?

Speaking as another old-timer, the kind of linear switch I'd be interested in would be super smooth (obviously) and nicely damped on both ends of the stroke. Something with a real solidity to its slider, too, like it's on a metal rail. No wobble. No bullshit. And ideally, yes, indirect sensing (capsense, magnetic, optical…) for the feel and the brag / necessary excuse to try again.
I’m as out of it as Andy, so my knowledge is so dated it has a sepia tinge to it! Back in our day, new production linears were all various shades of shite. But much has improved…
