New Member, new vintage keyboard owner, FK-2001

Hello,
Recently saved a Focus FK-2001 from a eWaste recycling bin(unattended bin like a clothes donation bin in a parking lot).

Keyboard was complete with cover, has minor scratches in cover and casing but other then those appears to be in very good shape.

Only a little corrosion on two of the pins in the plug.

Cleaned the little bit of gunk off the casing and cover.

Sadly I believe this means it is set to XT mode only?

Not familiar enough with the older keyboards so I'm also unsure what this means.

Hidden inside the casing near the inverse/normal markings was this switch, mounted inside in a way you could only switch it off or on if you opened the case.

Ordered a Soarer's Converter because I do not currently own an XT compatible PC.

I had attempted to build an AT to PS/2 adapter cable using .62mm female molex pins and a PS/2 extension cable because my PC has a PS/2 port but that of course failed.

That's a Focus. It's working reliably, irrespective of its condition, is not entirely guaranteed. They made some really cool boards, and they used the best non-IBM switches in my opinion (Alps electric switches, usually whites), but the build quality of the boards and the quality of their electronics was not so hot.

If it doesn't work, unplug and replug it a few times until it does. I suspect it will ultimately work.
