It's a dinky 23 foot Aquarius asking $5k. The winning ticket is this: It is on a mooring ball about 50 feet from Fishermans Wharf dock in Monterey (which has excellent keyed facilities, bath, wash/dry, etc.) and is the last mooring ball next to what amounts to a virtually private beach with seals and otters. There is no reason to have a mooring there....it's crazy. $650 a year crazy. The boat has no head or power, only an emergency cartridge toilet. So it's a little harsh in that respect. What an experience though!!! Plan B would be to find something for sale on a dock, but the costs go up significantly...but I may want to move up to Santa Cruz....so I need to see about dock space....often there is a wait list. I'm going to need to spend some time looking into this. But the main goal is to streamline the 'stuff' and save major cash for at least 4-6 months or more. Plus, I think boat living would be healthy for me to shed off crap, and get in the habit of not getting more crap. Less is more.
Sausalito is the holy grail of houseboats.... but I'm currently employed near Monterey....so there are logistics to consider.
Input Nirvana + anything that floats = chick magnet
I have an option with a small C class motorhome as well, in the same cheap price range. Far more practical, but far less cool, romantic, chick-magnety.
I'll be back in the game around the holidays or by next spring at the latest, but I don't have a plan yet. Still working damage control and paying everybody off.
Yesterday I managed to injure myself during one of my many 10-12 hour days 6 days a week:
