I doubt there will be another Phantom group buy with exactly the same keyboard layout.

There will be no Round 3 style anymore in a future Round 5.
There is a security reserve, so maybe you are lucky and get the keys you need.

How when can I know that?
Also, if I send in an order with sold out items in it, will only those items be discarded or will the entire order be removed?

When you order you just overwrite the items you order:

Say you've orderd

ROUND3/STANDARD
ROUND3/SPACE

Now you order
ROUND3/STANDARD 2
ROUND3/SPACEOLD 1

you will get:
ROUND3/STANDARD 2
ROUND3/SPACEOLD 1
ROUND3/SPACE 1

And don't forget your e-mail address!

Is PHANTOM supposed to render a confirmation as well, such as 7bit_r4, because I didn't get one. That order was a while ago.

It is not my fault you are so late and there is stuff sold out.

You can remove kits by setting their quantity to 0.

The Phantom group buy is on hold until I've shipped everything. Then I sell the security reserve.

Yeah, I fully understand that it is my fault for being late. I regret that deeply.

Right now, I am just trying to figure out how that reserve works. Should I leave that order where some items are sold out to be able to get some of the ones in reserve, just in case there are any left afterwards?

Well, if you don't order the available stuff it might happen you don't get them when the reserve is sold off.

If you send an order for a sold out item, this item will be skipped. The rest will be kept.

Security reserve will be sold at a later date, so that's a bet you need to take : either take what's available now and be the fastest when reserve is sold, or wait until the reserve is sold and see if all the items you want are still available. Second option is safer but gives you less chances to get what you want.

Two more questions:
A) Let's say I want to try and add the sold out items every now and again, in case someone removes them from their list and they become free. How frequently can the script take updates? The higher the frequency, the higher the chance that I'll be first if one were to be available. But I wouldn't want to break the bot.

B) If I add a certain number of an item, say 5, to my list and only 3 are available, is it discarded or are the available number, 3 in this case, added to my list? For instance, if I were to type send 'TOOL 2' at a certain frequency, would it be discarded if 1 TOOL were to suddenly be available and I tried with 2?

If you order the base kit now and don't get what you need later, just sell the base kit later. Although with Geekhack gone, I don't know how things work around here.

I figured that much, but I may as well increase my odds of getting one of the items I want by trying to be the fastest one their in case one were to be available. I wouldn't want to be "that guy who overloaded the script and ruined it for everyone" by trying at too high of a frequency though.

When I record the payments you made today I'll mark them in Paypal as "Mark as Shipped". This will trigger Paypal to send you an email that your item has shipped. Your caps will not actually ship until after they are manufactured and sent to 7bit who will ship them to you. I'm just letting you know that you will be receiving that email from Paypal, but your caps won't actually be shipped for a while. The reason I'm marking payments as "shipped" is because Paypal has been known to lock paypal accounts because goods aren't shipped in a timely manner. Group Buys don't operate like a normal "retail business" so we have to do it like this go get around Paypal's rules. If Paypal locks the account, the group buy grinds to a halt since no more money can be collected and any money in the account is frozen.

We still need one or two more volunteers to help collect money since the amount that needs to be collected is more than Paypal's threshold for sending payments to the IRS. PM 7bit if you can help.

blighty and staffanu, your payments are received, but it may take a few days before your invoice reflects this payment. It's not a fully automated process, unfortunately.

A) The script updates when 7bit runs the script manually, no real frequency. Can be 3 times a day or no update during two days. I can't tell about the frequency you should send your messages though.

I don't think I made B) clear. If only one becomes available, does sending TOOL 2 just order the one that is available or is that entire line discarded since there isn't two available, just the one?

He's answered your previous post regarding the DK set already, but yeah, that's what it means. The posted list is the list that gets sent with any order confirmation, but with all the lines with 'sold.out' in it removed.

@7bit, does retro/space redirect to retro/space/grey, or are those two different physical products?

I tried changing my order here and it did not work at all. I got a blank invoice to my email. Same name as on as GH. I also tried PMing you here and got no answer.

Netdewt, I also tried to add something to my order (same name, etc.)...

...and got an email with a brand new invoice number and only the new item on it.

I let 7bit know what happened and he consolidated the two invoices and everthing worked fine after that with my original invoice and invoice number intact. Make sure you are putting the order change in the exact format with no extra characters or trailing spaces, UPPERCASE where indicated, etc.

I've found that if I enter an "order" with only one item that I've already ordered in the same quantity, that I will get an invoice report with no changes.

[Let me interject something here, off topic, as perhaps an apology to anyone who ever reads any of my posts... I work in an IT Department where I deal with "end users", some of which have trouble operating their mouse and I can use terms like "PEBKAC" safely with them all day long. Sometimes I forget the audience here and lapse into bad habits of oversimplifying explanations. My intent is not to "talk down" to anyone, I'm just used to explaining things to a, let's just say, less tech savvy group of people where I have to make sure my communications are extremely simple, clear and unambiguous. Thanks for letter me share.
