Hey everyone, I'm a new refugee from GeekHack. I have a Leopold FC200RC/AWN. It's a white keyboard with blue Cherry MX switches and blank keycaps which I'd purchased from Elite Keyboards. Recently, I went back there to purchase another for home use. When I looked at their catalog, the entry for my keyboard was no longer there. When I e-mailed them, they said that this keyboard had been discontinued. So is there a new model with the same characteristics (blank white keycaps, Cherry MX Blue switches, tenkeyless) or should I settle for the black version of this keyboard?

Why not get a white Keycool? It's essentailly the same thing with improved FC700 pcb, cost less money, and much easier to find right now. They have print caps by default, but money saved over Leopold you can afford another blank set.

I'd really like to find an American reseller, because sites like Buy From Korea and the like often add a fair amount of overhead to the price of the item. You need something like this:

Before I get the KeyCool, is there anything I need to know about modifying them? I heard that they use costar stabilizers, so that spacebars and the like which use Cherry stabilizers aren't cross compatible. That's not a problem in my case, as I'll be leaving the spacebar alone. However, what about other large keys, like shift, backspace, enter, and the like? Will those be compatible with standard Cherry keycaps?
Currently my plan is to get a Keycool and swap out the keys with a blank set ordered from WASD? Are there any glaring flaws in my strategy?

The only difference between Cherry and costar stabilizer is that costar is extremely annoying when changing keycap with the silly fiddly inserts. Keycap is 100% same compatible. Keycool spacebar has the same off spacing that Leopold use in case you were wondering.
So you are completely fine to get any MX aftermarket set from wasd, kbc, or whatever.
